You will have to forgive me if you find my English lacking… English isn’t really my primary language or my secondary… Heck it is not even my third language…so apologies if I can’t write English that well, don’t bash me for it…
However:
I am new to the forums so Hey ya’all
but I have been a fan of the halo
franchise for a very long time… One of the many things I enjoy while playing Halo is to be part of the community…
I have always considered the halo community to be one of the more mature and sensible… and I enjoy having chat and debate with many halo fans about the lore, game mechanics and much more… but sadly with each halo since Halo:CE the community has gotten (hmmm how do I say this)…… Worse. And that escalated to new heights after halo 3 and each halo after that, Halo 3:ODST, Halo:wars and Halo:Reach.
343i have just released their first Halo game. 343i have shown that they can make a Halo game but for them to make a Halo game that can appeal and be accepted by the diverse Halo fanbase, they need to grow as a studio and they need to know what every part of the Halo community (Forge-BTB-Arena-Competitive-Casual-grifball communities etc.) want.
So congratulations 343i and thanks for picking up the mantel after Bungie and continuing the story of Master Chief (waited 5 years for it…totally worth it). 343i, you have an ambitious goal for halo considering you want to keep the franchise alive for a decade or two and that is why I understand why you chose to introduce some new features to the halo sandbox .
There is an entire new generation of gamers out there who haven’t played the original halo trilogy and which have been brought up with the modern shooters of today. Appealing to them while keeping the core of what is halo to satisfy the core players can´t be an easy task…at its core the game is still Halo, the grenade, melee and shoot formula works as good as it did before. The base movement speed and jump height is Halo. The strafing works perfectly and I seldom feel the need to use armor abilities because you can do great even without them.
So good luck 343i for the future and I can´t wait to see how you improve Halo 4 and what you will do with the next Halo.
343i have taken the first step by releasing their first Halo and it is now our duty to help them take the next step.
I understand that some will not like the changes made to the game. I have issues too with some aspects of the game but there is no reason to bash Bungie (referring to Halo:Reach) or 343i.Don´t spew venom of hatred in forums or to discredit the studio and the name of Halo… You don’t like the game or you feel that the game is lacking, have flaws or is not up to the Halo standard!! Then please by all means do post on these forums and tell 343i and the community about it but please do it in a sensible manner…
The game may or may not need to be fixed (some people love the game as it is while others don’t) but one thing is certain, the Halo community does needs to fix itself and pull itself together. An enjoyable Halo experience can only be achieved if the community provides it.
I have been following the forum without being a member for some time now and all my issues with the game have been addressed by various members. So I will wait to see what 343i does to address these issues…and I know that lack of information/communication from 343 is somewhat frustrating but I will wait and let their action speak for them. I want to see what this game will bring for the MLG settings and how it will do in the competitive scene. I will wait and see what 343i brings out in the next Major TU. Until then I will play the game and enjoy it…I would enjoy it a lot more with some smaller maps and more fan favorite playlist (team doubles, race, griffball, classic playlist etc) but it is what it is… This game is not the best Halo yet but it can be.
If this forum represents the halo community then I believe that Halo deserves a better community.
