Discover hope trailer plothole

In the discover hope trailer it is made pretty clear that the pilot of the pelican is low on power, and can’t fly away from where he is drifting in space. When he pulls in chief he mentions his power cells are fried, and when he connects the two chords he puts the Pelicans remaining power into chiefs suit… and the lights turn on? He tells we’re going home as of saying saying he can fly home(this said at the same time the lights flicked on). How did the pelican gain power by giving its last bit of power away?

I’m pretty sure it was meant to imply that the pelican was drawing power from Chief’s suit, not the other way around.

Either that. Or it wasn’t the Pelican being low on power, but that he needed to stay powered down to remain hidden in the debris from the banished.

In which case he turned on the power to reboot Chief’s suit, which was a huge risk since it would attract attention.

As for celebrating about going home, I’m fairly confident after reviving Master Chief he’d feel like he’s got a superhero on his side who could keep him safe from the Banished.

“I rerouted what little power I had into your suit”
it sounds like he spent the last bit he had just getting chief to wake up

So, how cyborg is Chief anyways, in the 343 canon?

Do androids dream of electric sheep?

You had a chance to say Moa and you didn’t take it.

if the suit does not have power it locks up due to a lack of power

It’s also possible it’s like a car battery. And being out in the cold of space hasn’t so much left the suit drained of energy, as it has made it unable to start up.

Sometimes that happens, and you need jumper cables to get your car started even though it has plenty of juice left. If that’s the case then once his suit started up Chief’s suit could then feed power back into the Pelican.

I was making a Blade Runner reference but you’re completely right. Can’t believe that one flew over my head.

So what you’re saying is that the Chief is trapped in an imobilized suit, like some kind of iron maiden torture device, for weeks and months floating around in space, forced to drink his own salty tears and succumb to the deafening silence of an abyss that swallows his screams?

I preferred the version where he is part of the suit, and is in sleep mode with the suit…
