Hello. I joined discord and asked a question in the Halo reach PC section.
Got a instant ban saying I said the racist word “<mark>redacted</mark>”. (hidden there so I don’t get banned here as well.
thing is, I have no idea why it said that as I did not say that word in any context. Could it have been found inside another word?
anyway, I do not believe the bane is justifiable.

Hey OP, sorry for the late reply but I just seen your message here. I caught your ban just after it happened and was able to see from the logs that it was a mistake - an unfortunate typo that was picked up by the bot. I unbanned you shortly after but wasn’t able to reach out on Discord. If you haven’t rejoined yet you’re fine to join back up again, let me know if you need another invite. Apologies again for the issue

The reason for the ban wasn’t even related to the server, I changed my name to “Stupid Ni**a” Because my friend called me that, and I thought it would be funny. The server Bot messaged me saying I was banned, even though I wasn’t even on the server at the time. I changed my name back, and hope you guys can forgive me. (And no, I am not racist.)

The mods will have to look into this (and you’ll need to get your hidden ID for them to look up the ban details), but can I ask why you thought that it was ever okay to change your name to something so obviously racist regardless of what server you were on at the time? I don’t even see where the the humor would be in making that change. It isn’t funny. It’s 100% offensive.

Feel free to ask again in 6 months or so to see if the policy as changed.
