.I’ve looked at a few of the discord ban threads, and it seams like this is the place to post to appeal discord bans.
Around 11pm 6/4/2020, I reacted to the Official Halo pride month post overlaying an existing reaction that said “Halo.”
I wanted to apologize for my reaction and humbly ask that I can be un-banned from the official halo discord
I know it sounds like a stretch, but I thought “Halo” sounded empowering to those in the lgbtq+ community who also play halo. My immediate though being gay myself was “yeah, it’s pride month let’s get gay with halo!”. As I said, I myself am gay and have enjoyed growing up with the halo games as well as introducing my partner of 7 years to the franchise.
After thinking about it more however, I realize “Halo” probably wasn’t put there originally to empower lgbtq+ folks within the halo community. It was more likely that it was originally put there by someone who feels like making fun of pride month, and devaluing it’s message of acceptance. I’m sure if someone else from the lgbtq+ community was just being introduced to halo and saw the reaction, their immediate feelings would be that of discrimination. I reacted to fast and didn’t see how my actions could affect others, and apologize for my behavior.
I understand if my actions cannot be forgiven, and if I’ve spoiled my chance as an ambassador to the series. I hope I can change that, given the chance. Thank you for your time.
