I’ve recently gotten back into Halo and loving the Halo 5 multiplayer, especially SWAT but getting randomly kicked out at the end of a winning match and losing my XP is bad enough but getting banned for that is ridiculous plus I needed to wait nearly 9 hours. It should only recognize leaving a game as a quit, not getting kicked out a lobby/server. I understand why they added this but it’s unfair when you disconnect from a lobby. Also I think leaving forge sometimes adds to the ban duration, anyone experienced this?
Yea, I have encountered points where my Xbox disconnects at the most unfortunate of times.
So if they did that ppl would just reset their router when they wanted to quit or unplug something. That’s why disconnects are ban able unfortunately
You can’t control when or if you will ever disconnect because of something.
Like them REQ, its a risk and chance at playing. If you get banned, oh well you probably got a stack of other games to play with.
The problem I think with this is that some people can just turn their router off or go to the network settings and disconnect from their wireless network so it won’t count them as losing or quitting and prevent themselves from being banned
It should be if the game detects you opening up the menu and to quit the match is where it counts you as a loss, but if you suddenly disconnect, it should reconise that you disconnected via internet not the game

It’s very hard for 343i to work around, hopefully they find a solution eventually.

Except they won’t because there is no incentive for it. Even if the technology to distinguish between a quit and a disconnect were developed, the workaround players would use would make it meaningless. And when the end result is the same either you (you’ve left the game), it doesn’t matter.
The can’t tell the difference between a disconnect or a xbox power down. Thats why it counts as a loss.
Im sure if you explain to 343 how they can create a system that can tell the difference theyll implement it.

But you don’t need to bring up the menu on your Xbox One to pull out the power cable of your modem/router.
Dude that’s how it is in every game ever because the game still reads that you left the match before the end. Disconnect or not it’s like this in every online game.
If it can disconnect at an inconvenient time… it will.
9 hours though man…
Uh oh, I’m losing.
reaches behind Xbox
gently pulls on ethernet cable
Maybe ban times should also reset each month?
If you had to wait 9 hours then you have had to have been ban alot so either sort your internet out or stop quiting games
