Disarming bombs needs to freeze the timer

“Oh, thank god! I lucked out and killed the three guys who were guarding the bomb and have a sliver of health left! The coast is clear for now, so I’ll disarm the bo-”

These scenarios are worse than when Rachael blows up mid sentence in the Dark Knight. If there is a period where the bomb can not be disarmed even if people are standing on it, why am people even bothering to throw themselves on an armed bomb? The person might as well set their controller down.

they gotta fix that its very stupid, but then again they wanted to keep it sorta realistic

I’m not sure what my opinion is, but I’m going to add a thanks due to the Dark Night reference. Actually, this would change a lot of things. Grifball would be totally different. How about we flip a coin? Heads or Tails.

I prefer instant explosion like the suicidal Grifball bomb rules.

Have the option to enable/disable freeze timer when disarming a bomb.

problem solved.

You make a very good point. I fully support this idea. At no point in the game should you feel like there is nothing you can do to win.

This. Personally I think there should be a freeze for 1 bomb and no freeze for 2 bombs or neutral bomb.

This is an interesting concept. In order to disarm the bomb, you can either:

A) Decrease the disarm timer.

B) Freeze the timer when on bomb.

C) Create an area of effect radius so while your in it, the bomb is automatically being disarmed when not firing or being fired upon.

Any of the choices above would greatly help the defense team, but when you really think about it. The defensive team should be on the bomb site, protecting it with their lives knowing the arming of it = difficulty disarming. Most of the time, I can’t find any teammates who want to follow this objective and would rather spawn kill people. So with that said, my vote is to do nothing. Why? the game timer from the get-go is lessened, the defensive team is generally camping anyways with power weapons, etc.

I think there should be a mechanic similar to Ghost Recon: Future Soldier, where objectives capture faster with team mates around. So say, a bomb would defuse faster with 3 people standing on top of it as opposed to 1.

I honestly think Assault is fine. If a “disable timer when disarming” feature were added, it should be kept to customs.

Yeah I agree with Toa. Bombs don’t stop ticking just because you are trying to disarm them, the countdown is part of the tension. Just like planting a bomb with not enough time left in the round for it to detonate… that’s the pressure.

Its difficult enough for the attacking team to score a detonation as is. If a timer freeze was added into the game, I have a feeling that a lot of Assault games would end in a 0/0 draw.

I support this for 2 bomb for sure, idk how I feel about it for 1 bomb or neutral.

What would funny is if they added where you have to tap A so many times to disarm it, it would give those people with fast thumbs (Me) an adavantage plus it would give some suspense and urgancy. It would be a lot for the game’s A.I. to handle but it would be cool if all of your team could get in and tap A and it would register them all together.

I really do hope we get H2 style Assault again. That was such good fun on Headlong with everyone screaming “DROP IT!!!” when you were trying to arm it.

My opinion is to leave assault how it is.

It was fine in Halo 2, got even better in 3 and Reach is gold with the bomb.

If this was implemented I’d disarm it far too often.

I disagree. The sense of elation when there are five seconds left and nobody on it is a part of the game in my opinion, and should not be changed regardless of if Reach or H2 style bomb plants are chosen.

Or that.

It would be nice to have that but at the same time who knows how well it plays. Whatever.happens happens I guess.

I Concur. But I gave you a thank just for that Dark Knight Reference…

Fricken LOVE those movies… Awesome trilogy… Yes?
