I’ve started this thread to find out what has disappointed you most about Halo 5, I don’t want this to become a forum filled with hate, venom and nastiness to one anothers opinion (remember we all have an opinion, and we’re all entitled to have one) all I want to know is what has made you look at H5 and think to yourself, why did you do that 343i?
For me, my biggest disappointments are two thing.
The complete lack of selectable servers. I would much rather play on low ping good stable servers than play on american servers with quite a high ping. A ping of over 50ms on a game this fast is pointless.
And,
BTB in this game is almost laughable, yeah we have a version if BTB but it pales in comparison to other versions of the playlist. There is no developer love for BTB, it’s been dropped for the new ‘hotness’ that is the pay to win warzone. It’s now down to the forge community to build the maps, as good as forge is those maps look bland and lifeless, and some of those maps are really unbalanced as well.
Your gaming and life in general will be better once you realize you shouldn’t zero in on what you don’t like and what disappoints you… All these crying threads are getting redundant.
The continuation of all these gimmick mini game modes. Don’t get me wrong, I love Jenga and infection types like everyone else, but they’re all anyone plays now. It’s so boring spending most of my game time sitting and waiting for things to happen ether after I’ve died and wait for a million others too die, or its all about hiding for an eternity. Funhouse is good, but again over played.
The forge is still lacking a bit like all the prefabs and motif designs from other halos like the sand blocks from 3, the forerunner designs of reach, and the human UNSC designs from 4 are all thrown out for these bland looking blocks. Then all of the revolutionary things they’ve done in forge like auto turrets and holograms, and animated objects from before are not there even though they would be better than the generic crap that we have. Halo 4 had better animated props than halo 5.
Unable to do custom warzone. Its fun and a great redo on firefight, but I would like to have a smaller map like in reach and allow us to customize it, put in weapons and structures and they could make it so we are not able to affect enemy spawns or the places we spawn but we can build around them.

How is this crying? It’s not a redundant topic because 343 needs to learn that people are not satisfied with their product

It’s very redundant because it’s the same old complaints that’s been made probably 100 times. H5 is a good game IMO. Sure the campaign story wasn’t great but the missions over all were good. The multiplayer is solid as well. This complaint of no developer made maps is baseless IMO. Since the refresh BTB maps look fine and play great to me. Who cares who made them as long as they play well and look good.

They don’t look good though,it is not a baseless argument and I’m glad you said in your opinion because in mine halo as a franchise is a shadow of its former self and is barely holding on to life…look at halo 5 population wise number 21 on top games played and 343 doesn’t even have the guts to put up a population counter and the campaign missions for the most part were terrible…7 or 8 warden eternal’s to kill are you kidding me…and in your opinion the mp maps are fine and play well, but in mine and many others they are ugly, too small, and poorly made

There is character development, just in outside media as it always has been. Halo never really had character development in any game. I would say there is actually a bit more in H5 if you pay attention to their conversations in the game about their back grounds.

Sure it might have some conversations on their character background. Honestly teh only character I was intrigued by the short conversations is Locke. The rest, were just meh IMO.
story: i thought it was uninteressting and on top of that you need to be familiar with the EU to understand or even know the characters. thats just bad writing.
on top of that: no brutes, drones, flood. i know they weren’t in h4 either, but there i gave them a pass, because it was their first atempt at a halo game.
gameplay: it felt to me more like a “generic modern” shooter like CoD/BF. the movement, ADS and hit markers (i know they were allready in h4). there are just so many elements which to me don’t belong in a halo game. i also prefer the classical art design. also the prometheans were very uninteresting to fight, except for the knights (they improved to me from h4)
that are just 2 major things i personaly don’t like about h5. (granted, they are huge parts of games and i could go more into detail, but i don’t want to, because i don’t really care about h5 anymore)
The Australian servers have just killed multiplayer for me !i love the game it’s really fun to play but as it’s gotten faster server quality matters so much more which makes it brutal I can only handle being shot through walls so many times
As LethalQ said, it’s more fun to look at the positives, but I’ll still contribute to this thread anyways. A lot disappointed me, but biggest was probably the lack of split screen.
Disconnects from the dedicated servers. So I guess the dedicated servers in general… was expecting them to be A LOT better seeing is how this is MS in all… they were good at first but have gone downhill since the Monitors Bounty update IMO. Get disconnects like crazy since then. - BTB being kicked to the curb. - Lack of developer made Maps in general aka remixed maps are a terrible idea. - ADS animation for zooming when the old way was superior in every way (just update that look if you must) - Story is “ok” but I thought it was poorly told. Unless you’ve read all the books, things are not explained very well at all. - The UI in general. Just terrible! Might be the worst UI I’ve ever seen. - Lack of interactive environments on MP maps like H2A had - No LAN support and the game is to online dependent in general. - Maybe a small thing, but I would like to see the ranks be military names not things like bronze gold diamond ect.I’d say those are my biggest things, and one small thing lol Despite all this, I do like Halo 5 a lot more then Halo 4 though (minus when I’m getting disconnected from the dedicated servers lol)
EDIT: I just want to point out that I don’t see these types of post as complaining. At least not when I post. Yes, there are people who all they do is bash Halo 5 and 343I and that’s unfortunate, but personally I see this as I’m trying to help 343I. One thing I love about Halo 5 is that a real ranking system is back (does have flaws though lol) I feel I contributed to making that happen by voicing my opinion during Halo 4s time and in the past in general. A person can like something but still see ways to improve it.
The game is good, if you find is disappointing maybe there’s something you need to change about you or your life, just sayin’ and not to mention this is the 9th game of the franchise.
I’m gonna start by saying I love halo 5 and still play it. Now that that’s out of they way I do actually have a lot of problems
The art style is to power rangery and everything looks like it’s plastic
Not a fan of the campaign. I didn’t like Locke and I still don’t find fighting the prometheans fun to fight at all
Warzone and the whole req system in general. I really don’t like the way armor is unlocked thru rng and I wish there was more commendation or achievement armor unlocks.
Btb got completely shunned for warzone because warzone brings in cash and btb doesn’t. Also not a fan of BR starts
Lack of armor customization. Come on now, why does Reach have the best customization when it came out like 7 years ago
overall yes I have a lot of problems with the game but it’s still rly fun
