It seems like almost everyone has been getting in invitations to play an early release of the Halo 5 beta. I’ve been pretty patient with 343i. I didn’t complain about the Master Chief Collection, even though I struggled to play it since day one. Not once have I complained about Halo 5. I’ve offered some constructive criticism, but never complained. Yet, I see all these ungrateful people who got early access to Halo 5 offering nothing but illegitimate complaints. It’s simply unfair. I get that you want to test the beta before officially releasing it, but shouldn’t you reward the players who have dealt with the MCC since day one. Nevertheless, I’m sitting on my couch, on my birthday, having to write to you (343) to express my disappointment. Halo 5 looks great and you’ve done a good job, but shouldn’t the true Halo fans, not some preview members, be testing the game. After-all, aren’t we the ones who know Halo best and can help you the most. I would really appreciate an invite to the early beta, but I shouldn’t be the only one getting it. Everyone who preordered the MCC and played on the first day should get access as well. C’mon 343, don’t dissapoint a long-time Halo fan on his birthday.

Posting about it in the forums is whining so no one cares.
If you treat things negatively, you won’t have fun in life. You will get to play the Beta in 9 days, which isn’t that far. I know it sucks, but that’s why you should go on Twitter and tweet to Josh Holmes or someone and ask.
Do you think it’s fair on them?? They have so many fans, and so many people to keep track of. This is a busy time of the year for them. Fixing MCC, tracking the progress of the beta of a beta, editing the beta itself based on feedback from the beta of the beta, and developing Halo 5 Guardians, Spartan Strike, and Halo 3 ODST for MCC. I’m sorry they didn’t pick you for your birthday, but come on man. They can’t pick EVERYONE for the beta.

I did go on Twitter and ask. Unfortunately I got no response. However, I recognize their pretty busy trying to iron out the beta, which is good. I just want to play Halo 5 only birthday. I know I should’ve patient enough to wait 9 days, but if you could play the future installment of your favorite franchise on your birthday wouldn’t you really want to.

They’ve been pretty clear about not everyone getting early access. Don’t take you not getting one of the limited number of invites as some sort of intentional slight. That’s a really childish way to think. Either way you’re less than 10 days away, so wait patiently like the vast majority of us.

I just want to make it clear that I’m not angry at 343. I appreciate that they’re ironing out the beta befote release. I’m just saying that I wish I was playing Halo 5 today. I’m looking forward to playing on the 29th if that’s what I have to do.

I got in the beta because I was in the Preview Program for Xbox Live, and I’m completely with you on being supportive. Trust me, not the entire community is full of toxic hate and irrelevant complaints. I’ll add you on Xbox and invite you to the Preview Program so that you get things like this in the future. Feel free to add me back as well.
You’ll get a message from Xbox Live at some point saying you’ve been invited along with access to the app.

I agree that a better move might have been to give access to everyone who logged into mcc on release day. Would have accomplished the same thing
I think it makes perfect sense to have the group whose jobs are to test things for Xbox One test the beta so that it’s smooth on launch.
They’re just stress testing.

I’m in the preview program (still never got codes). You are not required to give feedback, nor are you payed to test things. It’s just an app that select people get into that allows them to test updates early, they “ask” for feedback but I’ve never been penalized for not not giving it.
Most people giving feedback on the beta are doing it here anyway. After all the screw ups 343 has had it would have been a smart public relatios move to give early access to day one mcc users, they could still give it too preview program users as well.
