I am incredibly frustrated by this week’s ultimate challenge. I have probably played 10 hours of Halo over the past 3 days, and I have gotten maybe 6 ranked capture the flag matches. I’ve won two. I have a job. I can’t stay up late trying to get this prize. But I’ve managed to get every weekly challenge so far, and failing to get this one because I have trouble getting a ranked capture the flag match sucks.
I don’t understand why 343 would have a ranked capture the flag win challenge after removing Behemoth. I think that, of possible game-map pairings in ranked, that there’s less than 1/6 of a chance of getting a CTF match.
My streak is gone. It’s not a big deal. But you better believe I won’t be trying as hard for the next ones.
Same, but I’ve been avoiding the objectively worthless ones, like repeat emblems or generic backdrops. I don’t know if I’ll be going for this week’s capstone, but the weekly challenges are very nice this time around so far. At the very least, I’ll be getting tons of EXP.
I had the same issue and was grinding it out last night to try and complete the challenge before the time ended and low and behold I had 1 CTF match come up. One. I played over 24 matches all of which were stronghold, slayer and oddball, and then gave up. It’s pretty ridiculous that this is not even a test of skill at all but simply just luck of the draw. @Unyshek want to chime in here?

I have been disappointed in the weekly challenges so often I do not even bother to check to see what they are, nevermind trying to grind for it.
Last time I did was the tea something or other armor color…the orange and white one…
Which by the way…WHY CAN WE NOT SELECT OUR OWN COLORS like we used to be able to?
Edit: after reading I understand you are more upset with the play of the challenge and not the reward…I agree with you and my point still stands as well hahaha.
Another edit: remember when they said they did not want to make Halo’s reward system feel like a full time job…HA! they blew that concept and your post is a great example of how they designed FOMO into the reward system creating it to be a full time job…a job where YOU ACTUALLY PAY YOUR EMPLOYER…
It would be cool and more rewarding if we got a better rewards. Instead of same emblem 3 times, but give us a helmet, armor coatings or shoulder pads for example …
