Disappointed by lack of feminine body choice

Previous games had much better feminine body styles. The voices, prosthetics and general accessibility has been improved so much in Infinite, but this is pretty disappointing.

I’m not even so sure it’s the body itself at this point. If you look, the body does change, but the armor isn’t adjusted to fit the different body shapes. If they were to add more body types, but don’t adjust how the armor sits on those bodies, then I don’t know if it’d solve anything. Can our sleeker body types please have armor that conforms to them 343? I want to look bad -Yoink!- and feminine at the same time. The two can go hand and hand.

Same. Body Type 1 is the most feminine, so I’m using it, but it’s still not very feminine looking. It’s like they were a bit lazy and wanted all armor to work on the same body so they wouldn’t have to make male and female versions of each armor set, so all the body type changes is a tiny bit of the body suit which is under the armor itself, while the armor itself stays the same size. Disappointing for sure.

I do hope they address this, as it really feels I`m playing male all the time regardles of the body type, arms, leg, waist all look male

Yeah only color really seems to make a difference. If you remove shoulder pads it helps a little

I think the big thing isn’t necessarily that the body types aren’t distinct enough (even though some tweaks would be great) but rather that the armor just doesn’t scale AT ALL with body type changes. Body Type 1 actually has a slimmer belly, smaller shoulders, AND slightly slimmer thighs than especially Type 0. However, you’d be hard pressed to notice because the armor plating doesn’t change at all. Even just tweaking the fit of the chest armor around the ribs and the bicep/shoulder armor would make a world of difference in the profile of Type 1 vs Type 0 armor.

This is doubly true if you wear Yoroi which might as well not have Body Type choices since nothing at all changes. :frowning:

Its one of those things I’d like to see them address openly, the thought process that is. Was it just an issue if not committing any real time to it, was it deliberate in response to years of complaints of female models being unnecessarily sexualized (hip width/wiggle), or was it simply a safe approach to “inclusion” by keeping things androgynous and letting people consider themselves whatever they wish, as everything is obfuscated by armor?

I’d be down for clearer representation, but from a development standpoint I can also understand not wanting to be saddled with issues tied to the concept and just taking a safe route or opting out entirely. This is one of those topics where a lot of people like to say how “easy” it is, ignoring entirely that doing it right or wrong is purely subjective and generates grief one way or another.

As much of a non issue this is, I can’t deny that I prefer to have a more cough feminine design.

Coming from H3, It’s whatever. Coming from H:Reach? Sheeit. I do miss that big beautiful booty.

I truly hope to see 343 make some improvements here. It’s not exactly a top priority issues atm when we have so many issues with progression, monetization, playlists, and of course other aspects of customization, but they really should look into doing some kind of system that automatically scales armor pieces to fit better on each of the 3 body types.

We really need armor pieces to resize somewhat around body type, especially with Yoroi, which has no changes at all based on body type. I don’t know if they went this way just to save work by not having to create 3 different pieces of each armor type for each of the 3 bodies, or if they thought that this would somehow help with inclusiveness, but if it’s the former, it’s a pretty lazy idea considering how much armor sets cost in this game, and if it’s the latter, they truly hurt inclusiveness instead of helping it, I have seen quite alot of women who are disappointed that they can’t make their Spartan look like a woman, which they could do in certain past Halo games like Reach, 4, and 5.
