I am entirely frustrated about the frame rates in Halo 4! It’s way to slow to react and also for example after running after an enemy it takes what feels like 2 seconds to start shooting which this should not be happening in a FPS game.
Anyone else feel the same way about it being slow and sluggish in game as well a bit laggish sometimes as well because of the frame rate issue?
EDIT: Oops meant to also say the if your playing and if too many explosives are going off all at once or some battles or fire with a lot of people it makes the frame rates get low enough to cause choppyness.
I don’t know, maybe you have bad connection because the frame rate seems fine to me, when I press a button on the controller, the action happens at the same time on the screen.

> Halo 4 does an amazing job at maintaining 30fps and even digitalfoundry is impressed at the visuals it pumps with nary a frame drop.
In that case if it is the lag to fix this slowed down game I would be very happy, hopefully they can fix this slow down or lag whatever you want call it in the upcoming TU!

If an action doesn’t happen when you press the button, and instead occurs well after, that is the result of lag. A poor connection to the host of the game.
This is especially prevalent in Campaign and Spartan Ops over Xbox Live.
But with more than one player, then yes very much so. Splitscreen lags in certain areas in multiplayer, and switching between a spartan and spark in forge with 4 players is a pain because of the lag time.

No, I’ve restarted my Internet and also have a good cable connection direct connect or hard wired to my Xbox with 15 DL speed and 4 UP speed.
Feels slow and sluggish not smooth are you guys playing at the actual studio of 343I or something? Rofl

Speed pretty much means absolutely nothing when it comes to gaming. a 512k connection is more than enough for online play.
The issue comes with latency, or ping. Depending on the distance of the host, the ping will raise. Regardless of your connection speed. If you have a foreign host the game WIIL lag, even if you have a 100/100 symmetric connection.
Halo 4 needs to prioritize good connection over everything else.

Oh alright so are you saying its because I’m joining someone over at a different country im gonna get some slow down or lag? I have to say its omost every game I play in it isn’t a clean feeling game. Example my master chief ways a ton or its overly slow to react.
EDIT: also when they’re are to much going on or to many explosives going on it gets extremely choppy as well.

That was done intentionally, it is a consequence of sprinting around. This way you don’t have a bunch of people sprinting around, spamming shots like it’s nothing.

Oh well I don’t know why it’s completely choppy then.
The only way I’ll notice it is if I come straight from black ops 2…you really notice the difference then…takes about ten minutes to adapt and then its unnoticeable IMO.

EDIT: or choppy when too many explosions going off the frame rate goes low enough causing choppyness
Campaign framerate both alone and split screen is best in a Halo series ever, even better than Halo 3. Framerate is much better than Reach which had lot of framerate problems during certain parts of campaign. For multiplayer, playing alone framerate is good. On 2-player split screen it is okay for most of the time, but there are certain maps that plays really bad. Playing 3-4 player split screen, IT IS DAMN IMPOSSIBLE ON MOST OF THE MAPS! This is where Halo 4 went wrong!! Reach managed to do this brilliantly well 4-player split screen in matchmaking withour major lag. In Halo 4 it’s mostly unplayeable… And what I loved in Halo series, was this 4-player split screen matchmakign, which is not possible in ANY other game! That WAS unique, but now it is same as it didn’t exist due to framerate lag. Me no happy! :’(
EDIT: Spartan Ops plays very good as well, even in 2-player split screen.
I played Halo 3 splitscreen with a buddy and it worked. Can’t say that Halo 4 splitscreen works as good. Don’t even try to play a forge map it’s impossible to do in splitscreen.
When playing solo I notice the occasional frame drop. So I voted Yes.
