Disadvantaged on Console?

Maybe I’m just bad, but does anyone feel massively disadvantaged when playing on Console?
Like it seems pc players can move so much smoother, as well as fire faster.
Kinda sucks the fun out you know

PCs current advantage is mainly turn speed. Other than that, I would not really say there is a noticable difference.

I’m doing very well on controller. Have gotten two killtaculars so far, one in Big Team and one in Social Arena.

But honestly having more fun just throwing fusion coils across the map and cruising on the back of the mongoose. Now is definitely a time to enjoy the little things and not worry too much about 4 shot BRs.

Only thing PC usually has on controller is speed, but Halo is not a game where speed is required.

I loathe crossplay

Crossplay needs to be opt in when the game releases.

I’m on team crossplay.

I can’t tell what input other players use in the beta as they don’t show me, but I never once believed controller and mouse are on even ground.

That’s why there’s input based matchmaking.

I have only so far had one REALLY BAD match against a PC team. They used the sidekick and were literally crossmapping us without missing a shot at full firerate…

Needless to say the match ended 50-12 and as long as thats not too common I will opt into crossplay. But if I consistently get games like that at launch then crossplay will die very quickly.

Controller will always have an advantage due to aim assist and bullet magnetism vs a mouse and keyboard. This is because of player shields and the fact that only one shot needs to be accurate.

I have no idea how to identify the platform people are playing on. How do you know?

They’ve also got a pretty clear advantage on accuracy once past the red reticle range on weapons.

In BTB it was extremely noticeable, when I was getting perfected on by commandos well outside it’s relatively short RRR. Thankfully the BR has more range on it for controller users. But the Sidekick also has a hilariously short RRR so when you get laser beamed at even longish mid ranges by it, it’s probably an M&K.

As it mostly stands though, here’s what I’ve noticed.

The AR has a huge advantage on controller over M&K. It’s got one the highest aim assist in the game and bullet magnetism ensures far more shots will connect.

The BR seems the most balanced between both inputs. Though I could understand M&K players having a harder time dealing with it’s recoil over the course of an entire burst, that’s just the nature of control though more than an aim assist thing, as controllers can just lightly hold their stick down a bit while M&K requires constant downward movement during the burst.

The Commando and Sidekick have very low aim assist compared to other weapons. The Commando in particular is much stronger on M&K in almost any situation while the Sidekick is more balanced in RRR, but then becomes far more M&K friendly past that range.

The Sniper, Shock Rifle, and Skewer are all much stronger on M&K thanks to their increased overall aim control and complete near complete lack of aim assist mechanics on controller.

The Shotgun, Rockets, and Heatwave are all much stronger on M&K as well, but more because of M&K’s ability to keep track of player movement when things get chaotic at close range. Being able to quickly 180 with any of these weapons is a really big deal.

The Pulse Carbine, Plasma Pistol, Needler, and Ravager are all roughly the same no matter your input, due to their projectile firing nature and/or built in tracking pretty much negating any benefits either control option offers.

Bro stop capping.

You’re just awful at mouse and keyboard.

This is why cross input shouldn’t exist in a competitive setting including a ranked playlist. Social playlist, who cares?

If you lose a game, the other team are on the opposite input.

Lololol that’s what I was checking.

Unless there’s a way to identify the input an opponent is playing at you have no idea if it’s because of their skill or input why they’re winning.

I feel this is the most accurate. In team slayer I have a 2.0 + kd but on BtB it drops to .75 cause I just can’t aim at long distances very accurately.

Sorry, just stating facts.

I know. I’ve played on both controller and mouse.

Half the shots I make on CS:Source wouldn’t be possible on controller. And bloom is one of the most prevalent mechanics in the CS series.
