One thing that I loved to do in Halo 2 and 3 was finding extremely high places that were out of the map in custom games with my friends (ie on top of the buildings in Headlong in Halo 2). This was not possible in Reach due to the inclusion of the return to battlefield timer, so for Halo 4, it would be nice to have the option to disable the timer in custom games.
> Better yet, no return to battle zones in Halo 4.
No. That served a logical purpose. Maps can easily be adapted if people find “cheap areas”
Remember the Zero G area of zealot prior to bungie adding the out of bounds?
They were implemented so more work could be focused on inside the map than as far as the invisible barriers could take you to previous games, which is much better than invisible barriers.
Disabling them in Custom Games just allows you to go to places you shouldn’t be for as said above, oddly textured areas or pure blackness.
There is a spot in Headlong (Reach) where players can jetpack to the top of a building and shot at the players below. Seriously, that spot needs a soft-kill area.

Look at what im responding too. The person says that we dont need soft kill zones PERIOD. -_-
The default ones are there to limit map size so that lag does not ensue and because just stopping at an imaginary wall is strange. Although if they could be turned off, it’d be fun to foll around in the land of 2D trees…
