Disable Vehicle

In infinite. If I come across a vehicle I dont wanna use. I should be able to plant a grenade on it and completely destroy it. Not just damage it. Would be useful if I dont have an explosive weapon or would rather spend a grenade than rockets.

Let me enlighten you. Instead of walking by a vehicle I dont want to use only to have an enemy pick it up and wipe out my team moments later. I walk up to it and press (insert button) instead of x. And the vehicle blows up in pretty shades of orange. Problem solved

So how do you balance this from griefing teammates? Vehicles aren’t team specific. You’re also opening up a whole can of worms. The ability to ditch a vehicle at anytime, destroy it and reset the timer. There’s less risk and more reward,

You’re talking about an asset denial approach. I’d prefer the vehicle to stay in play. It forces you to make a judgment call: do you use the vehicle? Or do you leave it available for your enemies? Incidentally, if you do have heavy weapons, then you have to make another choice: expend ammunition taking out the vehicle, or save the ammunition for something else.

I like having to make those difficult decisions in the game.

Yeah that’s a point. I truely miss the old school days when everyone had a mic and you could just say. “Anyone want this before I blow it up”

It’s the same thing. Your just expending a grenade. In halo 5 you can carry 6 nades if you have all three varieties. Way too many. I’m also hoping they fix the nade cap

It’s an interesting idea in terms of immersion, but I too prefer the black-and-white way of things. You either use it or make sure it’s destroyed. Otherwise people will only have to burst a Warthog’s tyres for example, rendering pretty useless (ok, you can still use the weapon in the back), without sacrificing anything important.

It could be only available in the campaign and PvE modes.

Right, it is the same. My point was that being able to click a button to deny access to the enemy, there’s no cost to you. By having to expend a grenade, you’re having to make a choice between using a grenade or keeping it for later. I want us as the player to have to make decisions that matter in the moment. Do we keep that grenade or rocket for later? Or do we use it now so we don’t have to deal with a vehicle later?

That would introduce a lot of problems with trolls if anyone could do that at any time with no repercussions

I kind of like the idea of asset denial or if people really hate it when their equipment/vehicles get stolen how about colour coded approach for vehicles?

where the vehicles can only be piloted by said team colour? & to counter that have a specific class that can pilot any vehicles regardless of team colour

I’m spit balling here the idea kinda sounds dumb

Why not just use the grenades you spawn with?

nope, asset denial is a skill and tactic all its own, being able to destroy any vehicle this fast would be broken

if you wanna deny a team from using a vehicle, just use grenades or steal the vehicle. pretty common tactic in assault and ctf in btb
