Disable Grifball Betrayal Booting

Title says it all. Does 343i not realize that half of all deaths are by teammates? I can’t wait to get banned for kicked and banned for betrayals in a game where that’s half of all the gameplay, even if it is unintentional.

Is that true? I’m still downloading, so that would be quite the oversight.

One very important question. Have you played griffball matchmaking yet? Cause you’re making it sound like you know for a fact getting kicked by betrayals isn’t disabled.

Well maybe they should increase the betrayal limit and perhaps disable the ability for one to be banned from such “accidental” actions.

It’s not over yet. The complain is not over yet Snake!

Confirmed by several sources who’ve played already and been kicked. In about 5 minutes I’m about to confirm for myself.

Just played a match, i got multiple betrayals even one double betrayal and so did my team members, no one got booted. It’s fine.

second match of grifball and got kicked for betrayals, lost a legendary rp boost too.

I would say just do what they did for warzone. freakin disable friendly fire. Fixes all of these betrayel problems.

If true im not surprised.

I posted this in another thread. It’s most likely a mistake:

The problem with that is that you can gravity hammer swing a teammate with the ball and possibly launch him across the map to get easy scores. I just think it’s better to increase the amount of betrayals before you get kicked out. 2/3 times i’ve gotten kicked out because some teammates happen to be in a bad spot at a bad time. Even then if i’d miss the swing a millisecond too late i probably wouldn’t be able to get multikills that could cost the game.

Grifball always had betrayals in past halos and it’s balanced for a reason. Betrayal booting isn’t on the other hand. Either betrayal booting had to take actual effort or was no betrayal booting whatsoever in past halos.

Just got kicked for accidentally betraying someone. I thought 343 would’ve fixed this. I can’t help if my teammates run into my sight as I’m hammering another player. I don’t actively seek out teamkills and I don’t kick betrayers (even though I get a message to at least once per game). Edit: Just read the post about 343 fixing it. ^~^;

I played Grifball and was booted for one teamkill (accidental, it’s Grifball), with 30 seconds left about to Win, and next game a guy on our team killed at least 6 of our team and wasn’t booted the whole match.

Lost so many matches thanks to A button mashing little brats kicking me from the match when they jump right in front of my hammer. Seriously people, I was playing goalie, I even said to watch out over the mic, but those little CoD rejects can’t understand diddly squat!

Get rid of betrayal in Grifball is the only solution. in some past halo games they had to either remove being kicked, which trolls went around killing their teammates, or they had to remove FF. thats the only 2 options. there is no way to do it intentionally and not accidental. if they did that they should do it for all the other modes. there is a way to do it but the tryhards would be against the fix by detecting they were hitting enemy players while hitting teammates. But also with that being said, there is another problem with the Grav Hammer that needs to be addressed. so far i do kick people because accidentals arent always accidentals. its usually “oh you are about to get the kill with the grav hammer but i want that kill so im gonna smash him and you to get it.” TKs me while trying to get the enemy even though i was frosting so he clearly know he was going to FF so i kick him out after telling him not to use grav hammer near teammates and you need to use sword on the ball carrier he doesn’t listen because its all about him and sends a message 10 year old brat: “why did you kick me” Me: “simple, i told you what you were suppose to do, you didn’t listen to me and got too many FFs so i booted you. you deserved it” kid: “But i wanted those kills!” Me: “well now you don’t get the kills and you get kicked and keep it up you will get banned”. i get accidents but when you see someone else going for the kill, don’t be a -Yoink- and think its all about you and kill your teammates constantly just for the kills or else people like me will gladly kick you. I dealt with people like this before in past halos, they don’t want to listen, they just want to run out there. they don’t want to listen to leaders like me telling them how to work as a team so they deserve it. So personally don’t remove booting option. either make no FF or else this will keep happening. increasing the count won’t help and getting rid of the option is going to create trolls. I believe Halo Reach had some of these cases too for a while. Just get rid of FF. that will solve most of the problems. but again read here for a problem with the grav hammer.

Hopefully we wont have to wait til next month’s update to get this fixed.

They should at least change the UI flow such that “dismiss” is the default instead of “okay.”
That way anyone just mashing A to get back into the action dismisses the booting.
There are plenty of solutions. I’m really stoked that 343 gave us grifball but Its a shame that it came with such a huge oversight.

yep this needs to be fixed asap
