Dirty players are testing, yay!

According to the beginning of the last weekly bulletin, there are people who work in 343’s offices participating in testing of Halo 4 who use dirty tactics and try to bend rules/see what they can get away with. Maybe they can test the game well enough to make it sufficiently balanced after all. I was worried they wouldn’t have the right people to test how well the game holds up to people who tend to break the balance of the game. Apparently they do. The only question is, do they have enough people to stress test the servers.

They should hire me then, I play against dirty players constantly. I could write a book about the dirty tactics I’ve seen!

stress testing servers can be done easily when the daddy is Microsoft. all you need it ‘ghost’ connections to stream data to/from servers till they break. you don’t need actual people.

The best way to test a game is too fill it with noobs and pros.
And have professional game designers edit the game based on those matches.
And that’s exactly what they’re doing.

I LOVE 343!

Ive seen HLG, Standbyers,DDOSers, and modders, never to forget of course the pitiful derankers- far down on the bottom of the scale.

yea, some of the dirty tactics i’ve seen are so cunning they could pin a tail to your book and call it a chicken and get away with it

then again, i like to play people like that, because everything they do can be learnt and countered… so next time its done im like “lol been here before, I would be deeply appreciative if you would refrain from speaking. and die thankyou :)”

The best kind of people you would want to test a game for you, are player who use dirty tactics, Explore and look for ways outside of a Campaign level or Multiplayer map, or try to use Bugs/Glitches to manipulate and influence the outcome of a match. And exploit every unfair advantage they can…

In other words you want people who play the game NOT as intended.

Let’s just hope they test against stuff like this.

Hey don’t nerf HLG, those guys make me lol

Only way to rule out dirty tactics effectively is public beta. It doesn’t work well when you hire people to break the game.

They’re testing the border to see what can happen in any given moment. They want to see how to fix some errors before it’s released, which is logical.

I think that stuff can be pretty cool in the fact that it takes skill to do…

Agreed, but when players do that after gaining a slight lead and hide there for the remainder of the match, it takes all the fun out of the game. This was especially prevalent in Halo 3 Doubles.

Real dirty players will tell them that nothing’s wrong and exploit the heck out of the game.

They should just get a group of MLG pro-players to play and find every map/game mode specific exploit they can. That way any bugs and game-breaking exploits can be phased out.

i like stuff like that bro

That would never work. We have already seen how the MLG players play Halo 4.

BR with Pistol and PV. Find a corner and move back and forth from one side to the other.

It would take years to get collective data from Pros who find the best set up and camp it out.

They maybe looking for people to get involved in Halo 5. :=) Take a chance, you never know!!!

The only type of players that can test a game to make it balanced are good players.

They didn’t hire specifically for it, they just happened to have the right people for it doing different jobs who also help with the testing. But yeah, with no open beta, it’s not ideal. I’m just saying it’s not as bad as I feared it would be.
