I’ve been playing alot of Terminus Firefight matchs lately and I’ve lost 75% of my matches to good old ‘Direct Air’.
Direct Air, It ruins Terminus Firefight.
Why?
Because it defeats the purpose of a tower defense gamemode like Terminus Firefight, you build barricades, turrets & units just to see Direct Air fly right over them and right at the Terminus, your turrets at the Terminus Don’t even slow them down any.
And you can’t move all your units back to the Terminus in time before they’ve either destroyed it or severely damaged it and even if your army gets there in time what are they gonna do?
I’m not complaining about this because I don’t like losing, I’m complaining about this because I like it when the enemy ‘earns’ their victory by destroying all my barricades and units in true tower defense style.
I sure hope the Devs fix this wave that ruins the gamemode and defeats the whole purpose of building defense barricades & turrets, which is what Firefight is based on.
Any one else of you Jar heads agree with me lol? Cmon speak up Marines! !
It’s ridiculous to have 60+ vultures spawn at once and just phoenix missile everything, especially when they have 400%+ hp and dmg
In my opinion there should spawn more units than that they grow stronger. Even with max Reavers and Wolverines and all with 3* you can not defeat them… Total Bad 
just reduce the attack and defense of air
I have lost all my solo games due to direct air and its always when I’m so close to getting the achievements for owning every minibase and building every wall, damn frustrating!
Direct Air is just plain cheap.

That’s why I’m trying out Yapyap, his grunt heavies, when fully upgraded, are green against air and yellow against everything else, and since no air is green against infantry, they have twice the advantage over wolverines and banshees. I’ve been testing this leader out, and he seems to do very well, maybe if I spam banshees with heavies anstead of blisterbacks, he just might be able to hold out the mass ground vehicle rounds.

Well since Terminus Firefight is ‘Stop Direct Air’ & he can kill direct air the fastest, that makes him one of the best leaders

I haven’t tested this but would a Methane Wagon, Blisterback, Reaver, Grunt Goblin, and Heavy Grunt combo work?
Mass Air is problematic in multiplayer, thus it is a problem in firefight too. Maybe now there will be more incentive to nerf them? A fan can dream, right? No? Ok I’ll stop.

I think I’d prefer an AA buff, rather than an air nerf… Especially considering AA is almost useless against any other units or buildings… Nerfing air will make them obsolete I would think… I believe a buff to AA would only make people who use mass air upset… However, nerfing air would affect everyone (well at least everyone that works counters and balanced armies)…

I’ve found that a grunt heavy/banshee combo with 3 engineers and 3 goblins has been working, and as long as your heavies aren’t in the front lines during the scorpion rounds, you do pretty well. I have been wondering how much of a buff methane wagons actually give grunts, and if it’s high enough, I might implement it into my strategy, although Surprise Party is so much better.
