It’s insulting as a fan of the franchise to see where 343 is bringing Halo. For a prime example of what has happen, go play infinity slayer. Minor frustrations like Regicide and the maps are forgivable, but the current state of matchmaking is not.
It takes all but 2 minutes in a game of players who understand how to break this game to realize just how broken it is. It is very hard to make any sort of argument of where this game should go without knowing what the TU has in store for us, though I assume it will just increase the total ammo and clip size of the bolt shot.
The only thing constructive I can say, is…
343, can you pull your head out of your -Yoink- so we can make a memorable Halo game?
I shouldn’t be day dreaming in the middle of matches, reminiscing about the golden days when winning mattered, you didn’t have to worry about camo bolt shot hiding around a corner, and you had the choice to play ranked or social.
When I play Halo, I feel like that 5 year child who is pretending to throw the game winning touchdown into the end zone, attempting to make believe that this game matters…
At the base of Halo 4 it will not feel like Halo due to the many ‘mutations’ brought on by 343.
(Most of which I can’t have fun with)
I used to make a mental map of where weapons were on a map and used them as reference to where I got killed/player hiding.
But of course in Russia and Halo 4 ‘weapon come to you’ system kills strategy.
Why change the game like this when you have great features such as the weapon spawn map they made for Halo Anniversary.
The short way of saying this would be ‘Halo 4 suckz’ but I like to point out what I don’t like one at a time.
For what its worth, get some buddies and play a custom game with a gentleman’s agreement not to use the DMR, Boltshot, or Active Camo, and to wait 5 seconds before hitting X when you die. It will feel very much like Halo. That classic Halo feel is definitely in there, far more so than it was with Reach.
Ignoring lack of ranks and features and talking pure gameplay, all it takes is a few minor tweaks to bring the Halo out in Halo 4. Sprint and perks are even ok imo, its just a few of the major balancing issues that are at the core of this.
I cant say i feel insulted, i do however feel sorry for them because they’re hurting themselves by being so closed minded and blind when it comes to game play mechanics that made halo so unique and popular.
BTW, everyone who was participating in the forums when 343i took over reach’s multi player should have well known that halo 4 was going to end up becoming what it is today.
