My theory is that you need to encourage the players to kill with skill. Before the hate starts rollin’ in hear me out.
In Halo 3 the most common way of killing a player was 4 BR bursts to the HEAD or nade br combos. Players were faster than reach they jumped higher no armour abilities, your survival depended on your navigation of the map your jumps your turns, your strafe, your everything. You felt like you achieved something when you got a kill. Even go as far to say that 1 br kill in Halo is equal to 4 kills in COD!
In Reach your agility was removed in many ways, sure you had sprint, evade etc.
But it felt clunky and unhalo IMO. but player made tactics like gandi hoping were eliminated, leaving only the strafe.
Please 343, don’t forget what made Halo 3 multiplayer the best, the amount of skill it took to take a single player down.

Yes! They need to try to go back to the basics where it’s just you and your gun (no cruthches) trying to gain map control, out shoot, out strafe and just overall outplay your opponent.

Everyone’s perception of what core halo gameplay is different. Mine is not that of narrow minded conservative that likes copy and paste games (just to point out). The only difference is that the br is gone AND the jetpack destroys map control AND people can run away when they are about do die AND people have a 5 second invincibility button AND skill can hardly get you anywhere in reach. AND grenades are like mini nukes and don’t need skill to place. I never said it was like rocket science ANYWHERE. Killing in reach is based more on luck and its just inconsistent.

Luck, more like skill and precision. Obviously I have skill if I’m constantly dropping the lockers and jet packers. Reach maps were designed for AAs, don’t you think the developers are smart enough to make maps that are suited to AAs? Map control isn’t a problem in Reach. Trust me if you know what your doing, then peeps like the op wouldn’t be complaining about difficulty in killing and etc. PS, I use nothing but sprint, it’s the best AA imo. You guys make it sound worse than it is with people running away. sigh

This is why I love new people on waypoint because there first idea is always the best and they don’t know that the haters are gonna hate so they will do what others are afraiad of
O.T. Halo 1 and 2 did this well also but movement should be faster and kills should be long (halo 3 long not taking out a dwarven centurain master on Adept with an iron dagger long)

Skill and precision means not giving anyone else the upper hand. Like, jetpack gives the upper hand over someone who is using cover strategically.
If you are dropping armor lockers and jetpackers, It means that they are bad, not that you are good. I know from experience, as I do the same ALL THE TIME.
And map control is HUGE freaking problem in reach. That statement is groundless and has no proof.

This is my first topic I’ve posted here, made the transition from b.net to here. My main aim is to remind people what made Halo the best there was.
It baiscally made MLG what it is today, now i’m not some tryhard fanboy or anything but just the taught of learning all the tricks and skills that can literaly take years to perfect, makes halo stand out from the crowd, with reach it was essentialy a casual gamers paradise. (With exceptions of course) looking your way Kampy.

Map Control is a problem in Halo Reach, and the better players know it (With the exception of that you are playing a playlist without AA’s of course). A beginner will not understand this, and therefore i won’t even bother trying to make you understand either. I’m just telling you what is correct.
Ya if they were to make halo 4 like any of the halo games it would have to be halo3, remember how much fun custom games were when they were colourful not gray and didnt have fram rate issues, remember BTB elephant battles on Sandtrap and crazy ctf epic battles on Avalanche and Valhalla. Remeber the nights trying to find different playlists to get yopur 50, REMEMBER FIESTA! Remember Crazy king/slayer/odball on guardian. Remember ROCKET RACE. Remember being excited for every weekend to see whats the Double xp playlist. Remember when there used to be Elites and spartans just not spartans. Remember when Grenades didnt have the power and splash damage of a Nuclear bomb. Remember how much better grifball was. Rember How much more popular halo3 was and how it never ever got boring and even thinking of playing any other game was ridiculous!
Whatever lolz I’ll let halo 4 do the talking. I don’t like AAs, I think sprint should be default. Cloak AA should be a powerup just like ce-3 and overshield should return not armor sock lol. Oh and I’m good period. I’m outtey. Rating someone on being bad or good means that there is skill envolved so you fall short on that part drew :p.
