why are there different “rules” about health and damage in some different playlists? from what i can remember there is a lot of “TU” rules in multi team, but not in big team or team slayer.
like most people I don’t like it when the things I’m used to change, but eventually I calm down and get used to it, but it’s hard when there is no consistency in rules between playlists?
I don’t care about the halo ce playlist rules, because they are supposed to be different, but it would be nice if the normal halo reach playlist would have a consistent set of rules. I understand that osme gametypes like jugernaut need special rules, but we don’t need more than one set of rules in slayer or other simple gametypes when it comes to health and damage.
I know it sounds cliché, but it ruins halo, at least for me.
agree or disagree? am I just getting to old and grumpy for video games?

I know what you mean, having damage bleed on in one match then it not being on in the next is annoying
The difference is even more jarring because of a health bug that I don’t think was ever fixed (but is far more obvious in TU lists because of damage bleed). Long story short, you might have a lot less health than you think, if your shields have been popped a few times, even if you’ve picked up a health pack.
I understand your point, however, “No bleed through” was a CHANGE for Halo when Reach came out, and when you said “I do not like change”, you now know how all of us who have played Halo 2/3 felt when Reach came out. The “changes” you are referring to, are actually not changes at all, they are going back to the original formula that worked so well.
I have been playing mostly TU playlists now for a while with a few dabbles in CEA or TS or SWAT. I will say that being used to bleed-through from the original Halo series and then going to Reach took a lot of getting used to. And then going back too. I overall like the TU bleed-through better than no-bleed-through. And I’m used to it now.
The biggest difference is trying to remember to spam in 100% bloom and remembering to pace in 85%. Whenever I go to 100% i keep getting killed when I pace, until I remember to start spamming lol.

I’ve also played online since halo 2, but my point is that there are different health and damage rules in different playlists.

If you are able to, maybe just try to stick to one playlist or any playlist that has TU/no TU. It will be much easier to stick to TU playlists now that there are a few more.

Youre right, it is annoying. And ive been saying that normal players like yourself would start turning up asking questions, so thanks for proving my point.
Now there are only really two ways to deal with this: update all of matchmaking to the new settings, obliterating the original gameplay, or have a dedicated section for the new settings where people can specifically go and where they know what theyre getting and can get into the appropriate mindset for it, like the Anniversary section. Which would you prefer?
Do you see, 343i? It’s not just a few loudmouths. Your inconsistent implementations are bringing other players out of the woodwork to complain about it as well.
I agree with Naits!
I’ve also played through all the halos and they are all good, but when I started on Reach I realized the new changes there were well thought through by Bungie! No damage bleed actually makes the gameplay more thought through and interesting! -They have researched for 10 years to create this perfect gameplay.
Now that they changed it “back” again, it pays off far too much to just spam grenades and meele straight forward like a noob. I dont think its just about what Im personaly used to,. its like we die to fast and unpredictable now!
Not to mention that the “sharp” weapons, like DMR and Magnum, are too powerfull now with the bleedthrough.
Reach shouldnt have bleedthrough like halo3! It doesnt fit in Reach because of among other things how the grenades are much more powerfull in Reach than in halo3. This is one of many objects that are carefully tuned in comperance to eachother when they make the game. Many are different than on halo3.
Either way it suprises me that 343 goes to drastic measures like this to either make it more fun for the noobs… Or please the forum-whiners who never liked halo reach since it wasnt EXACTLY like halo3…
Its like they just sold themselves. Ruin the perfectly balanced Reach multiplayer just to get more UNWORTHY CoD players into the game!
Its like the time they changed firefight matchmaking into Arcadefight as a standard! This change ruined the point of firefight stats as everybody now can spawn invulnurable with a rockelouncher with unlimited ammo! Thats 1/4 of the stats-concept ruined. And why? To please some noobs who would though it was fun to bounce around with unlimited rockets and health.
They are ruining the Reach-experience by listening to the worst part of the community!
I understand they wished to create the Anniversary gametypes. Success; they are in very limited areas just as they should.
Its the TU crap that gets on my nerves… They arent limited at all! They are infecting new playlists all the time!
Why arent they contaminated like the rest of the game-changing bad ideas??
I don’t see what the big deal is. Just have 343 make a “TU” category and a “vanilla” category.
Are you guys happy?
If you’ve read the bulletin, it’s pretty common sense to recall which playlists have TU and which don’t, but hey there’s nothing wrong with In Game designations.
like I’ve said before, I want to be able to play in all the “normal” playlists, without having to rethink how much damage this and that will do. anniversary, juggernaut and infection are of course different.
apparently there are TU rules in big team now.
I don’t like the TU rules. 343 please make up your minds and make some stable everlasting rules. I just wish you’ll stay with the old ones.
