Different round properties

Here’s something I wish could be implemented in halo 4; so we have all these different kinds of rounds, ballistic, plasma, radiation, hardlight, crystalline needle, maybe a few others more. There is no gameplay distinction between them; they hit and do damage and that’s all.

I’m thinking ballistics could cause more flinch due to impact, plasma’s intense heat applies a damage over time effect, hardlight scrambles electronics and drains AA and radar a bit, radiation sickens targets making them move slower and jump shorter for the rest of that life, needles already have the supercombine but I’m thinking make them pierce sheilds as well. Just some brainstorm ideas.

I would like to see the option of chambering different guns with different rounds to let players pick their desired effect, such as chambering a BR for needles or a DMR for radiation. The gun is exactly the same besides the effect.

This would be a great implementation to halo 4 and all future titles.

I’m generally against being able to upgrade weapons in Halo, and I don’t think such a large feature could be implemented in Halo 4.

Maybe it the projectiles that are used by each weapon could have their own effect on gameplay, but it must be locked within each weapon. Not customizable.

Plasma Weapons inflict extra damage onto shields while bullets are better suited against armor. I could see Brute Weapons inflicting “bleed” damage, and Hardlight would be effective against both Shields and Armor.

But I don’t think Halo should have an equivalent of Weapon Attachments.

I think it’s just a terrible idea because previous halos didn’t have it.

They are not attachments you would just be chambering your rifle for the type of round you like best, everything else is the same except the properties of the round you chose and maybe firing animations and sound.

> I think it’s just a terrible idea because previous halos didn’t have it.

And it’s close mindedness that’s ruining Halo, we can’t expect it to stay the same, I’m not really for this idea, but we shouldn’t say no to new features, if we did, we’d still have the health system

By attachments they mean alteration of the weapons properties. As cool as it would be it doesn’t fit into halo.

I think he was making a joke at those people if not then I agree with you spartan

They are both essentially the same concept, and it honestly doesn’t make sense canonically to load a DMR with plasmic projectiles.

Humans by now should have figured out plasma, needle and hardlight technology by now and how to use it. Same with the covenant and ballistics. I think it makes sense.

Humans still prefer good 'ol lead, rockets and laser ; )
