I was watching the Stage Demo again on the Waypoint site, and I realised something about the enemies See if you can tell what it is:
Pic 1
Pic 2
As you can see, the first picture shows a Red Knight, whilst the second shows a Blue knight and Crawler.
Speculation:
My Theory:
Now, as it is known in the Halo Universe, AI Rampancy is usually accompanied by a red glare; I believe that these red Knights, Crawlers, Watchers, etc… are now rampant, and are being controlled by this ancient evil, whilst the Blue Promethean Ancilla are still under friendly control.
Could a civil war be raging?
Good Back-Up:
> In halo 2 there were two colours of sentinel beams - orange and blue - with blue being a more powerful version. This could be something similar? Blue knights could be a harder version of the orange ones?
This is an incredible hypothesis. Didn’t even cross my mind. Credit where credit is due, fine sir. The blue ones even look friendlier. Based on what little information we have about the Promethean Knights so far, I’m willing to bet you’re correct.
I wonder if there just different colored like elites or if the color means something else.
Could be something to do with rank. But it’s a good idea nevertheless.
The Didact’s icon is red at the end of the trailer, but after everything from the Reclaimer saga thus far (the saga being all the books since Cryptum, including Glasslands and the rest of the Kilo 5 trilogy), it doesn’t seem like he’d be an antagonist, at least not the main one. I reckon he’s being manipulated in some way, whether he knows it or not.

Thanks =3

Yes, it seemed that the Didact was a good guy in the Forerunner novels and that he regretted to have almost eradicated the humans 10 000 years prior to the Haly Effect. Now his reddish symbol appears at the end of the trailer. And then there is this voice which probably is his. Also 343 Guilty Spark once mentioned that he wished the Prometheans and the Didact were present after the Halos firing so they could put some order. Then he continues by saying that nothing but the Librarian could temper his rage, though. Something horrible must have happened after the events of Halo Primordium.
Wow. very impressed with your theory. I would say that there is a great chance you are correct, but if you are wrong, it may just be because of ranks, or different colors in different terains, or something else. Regardless, very nice theory. Good post.
Or it could just be depending on the location…
The reddish ones are on a jungle, while the blue ones are on what appears to be an icy landscape…
The theory is great nonetheless, just saying, we dont realy know for sure yet…

I already noticed that like yesterday dude. By the way you can just barely see it but there is a blue watcher and as for the environment theory it sounds stupid since orange glowing lights do not really blend in with a jungle.

Of course! This just some more speculation, I will not deny that
Or say the Blue AI are controlled by Cortana. She could conceivably tap into them and control a few.
OR as Cortana falls into rampancy, as we see in the video, she sort of turns on Chief. She could be controlling the Blue AI against you. She’s always been blue and obviously the bad AI are the red.
Just a thought.

I’m not denying that other people may have spotted this, it is just that nobody else seems to have asked the simple question: “why?”

Thanks. :¬)
two Didacts are confirmed… the orignal, the one we all know is obviously rampart (ending of the trailer and the live-action section show the symbol in the red glare)
The other unknown Didcat might be on our side?..what if chief becomes the Reclaimer and the new Didact!? or could it be a new individual/AI altogether?
ZOMG
Even better question. Whose Cryptum was that, and why didn’t both the Cryptum and the Chief regard each other as hostile? (Granted, it’s not like there is a whole lot out there that can damage one of those things.)
Orange=Master Builder and Blue=Bornstellar Aka Didact…

Exactly, if that Cryptum was hostile you would think it would have vaporized Chief by now.

Perhaps the Cryptum received orders to not kill the Chief yet. Look at the ending of the cutscene. Chief is knocked out, doubt he’s killed. Maybe captured or rescued by spartan Iv’s…

Considering Chief and Cortana are already familiar enough with it to refer to it as ‘he’ and ‘him’.
