Difference between the trailers and campaign

Hey everybody! I’ve been playing Reach since about 12:45 AM of it being released and I love it. But I am disappointed in the hype and suspense the trailers made for the campaign looking like and instant war with the Covenant, like the opening cinema. It was completely changed as well as the dialogue. It’s always bothered me and made me curious. They could have introduced more Spartan’s, shown bigger warfare battle and explained so much more. Like when you just have to “survive” at the end and there are Spartan bodies near where the Pillar of Autumn lifts off. I just want to hear other player’s thoughts and ideas. Thanks and game on!

Trailers for games are always overhyped, but most times, they have to be changed so it doesn’t spoil the Campaign, for example, take this for example, in the final game, one of Noble team is carrying Kat’s body.

With the Xbox 360’s tech, we were never going to see a flat out war action filled Campaign, the Xbox couldn’t handle it.

I don’t remember the Noble Actual cutscene being vastly different from the trailer. The Campaign preview showing the beach battle on Long Night of Solace is noticeably different, but I’m pretty sure that was only to show off Armor Lock’s light-vehicle-busting capabilities.

Yeah I understand they always spice it up way more than the game but Carter looks different, Jorge and Jun say completely different things and then when they take off, there is no explosions, lightning or covenant ship in the sky. And as for the live action one where it shows them trying to blow up a corvette ship over a city, nothing relatively close happens to that. And I just mean more warfare and spartan interaction between deployments and different teams. Reach was the birth place of most Spartans and you just briefly hear Kat ask if it was true about two teams doing evacuations of civilians before she dies.

Graphic effects are much better

  • shadows
  • light
  • particles

Other Differences

  • You can’t see Juns face, cos he has his helmet on
  • Carter has a plastic face xD
  • The Ending of the scene is -Yoinking!- epic where the lightning goes up to the covenant cruiser

The main thing I was disappointed about, regarding the trailer, was the lack of additional vehicles on LNoS at mission start. Having just a Wraith makes setup work at this point a lot harder, not to mention you can’t use the other AAs due to the lack of mobility in giving up Sprint.
