So the brutes are often using weapon with red plasma and I’m wondering if there is a difference or if it’s just for the graphics. I try to search an explanation on halopedia, all I get was the difference between plasma riffle from halo 2 and 3 who have different rate of fire. Maybe there is more explanation on the new encyclopedia ?
scientifically… heat and element i believe
Found this online… The colour comes from the fuel, which is basically hydrogen ww.euro-fusion.org gives out two different colours, a strong red and aqua-blue, which combine to give pink color look up the Balmer series
Halopedia states that red energy swords (bloodblades) burn hotter than the more commonly encountered blue ones.
Red plasma is hotter and more powerful than blue plasma, but it causes weapons that use it to overheat much faster. I can only assume the brutes use it because of their aggressive fighting style.
Well ghost and banshee can fire indefinitely in the game, but this is more a gameplay problem
The ghost and banshee just work out more than the small weapons
I see no difference between regular ghost and banished ghost, like if the color was just esthetical
I’d like to point out the fact that irl, red plasma should be actually less hot than blue one since the close relation between energy and light wavelength (aka color). The bluer the hotter, the redder the cooler, that’s why welding torches burn in almost purplish light, because the flame is so energetic that is almost surpassing the visible light spectra leaning towards the borderline between visible and ultraviolet.
My headcannon for this difference in plasma weapons could be the fact that red plasma weapons fire faster but deal less damage per plasma bolt vs blue plasma which in a scientifically way make sense.
Well, from what I can think of. The red Plasma Rifles from the Brutes not only has a different fire rate, but also a very limited one in comparison with the one from the Elites because the Brute rifle is designed to produce hotter plasma energy, therefor dealing increased damage to their target. This does have a maintenance fee, which is the fire rate and overheating. Its rate of fire is much more limited and it overheats too quickly. Just as @Freeland7 mentioned.
