For the past 5 years I have boycotted halo 5 online off and on due to this ongoing problem, but almost always come back because it is a fun game and addicting.
I know 99% of the rules and mechanics of the game, I have been playing since 2007 when I played halo 3. Now I am not a sore loser or a sook but there have been many MANY times where I have nearly smashed my console.
the thing is, it is impossible for me to rank up, which hurts. This is due to, for some reason, It is so hard for me to kill someone, as it seems like they just have more health than me.
If I hit melee someone in the back of the head, 50% of the time they won’t die. They usually turn around, melee me back, shoot me and I die, even after I have sprayed sufficient AR fire at them, while they are one-shot.
It also takes about 7 magnum shots to the head for someone to die, and about 3-4 for me to die. (I have confirmed this in theatre.)
I have been meleed and then shot with 1 AR bullet and died, (also had a look In theatre and nobody else was shooting at me.)
I have been Spartan charge from front on with full health and died instantly.
I have meleed someone twice in a row while they are one-shot, they have survived, and been killed from their melee.
I’m not sure what it is but I have shown some clips to random players online in lobbys and they have also been shocked.
I have a 2 minute compilation of the worst cases of the unexplained deaths/non-kills that I am really trying to send to 343 or halo 5, not even as a complaint; just to get some sort of an explanation
i am just wondering, does anyone else have any of this happen to them?

Sounds like ping / latency issues. It’s going to be even worse now with the small population. Are you outside the US?

I was expecting gooseheads like you to reply with this ahaha if your an American you wouldn’t understand, us Australians are literally 1.5-2 seconds behind you guys which is really frustrating
here is a recent private clip I put on YouTube for reference
and that happens all the time. I’ve been playing for years I know the rules, If running through a splinter doesn’t kill, then a few shots of the AR should.

Yeah mate I’m in Perth, Australia.
I suspected it would be a ping issue which it is because I am constantly getting shot through walls and Spartan charged after I have already boosted out of the way.
here is a clip but that I posted to YouTube on private that sums up what it’s like
note that if I do much as touch a splinter grenade then I might Aswell just lay down and die then and there because my shield gets thrown into another dimension.
Its unfortunate but from what I read on here players in australia and new zealand typically have excessive latency issues, I think due to a lack of servers for your region. Seems unfair to you guys, but also given 5’s low level of support atm it’s probably unlikely to change soon.
It’s definitely a fast-paced game, and in my opinion plays way different than CE through 3, even a lot different from 4. It takes getting used to for sure! So if you’re constantly dipping out and only coming back every so often, I’m sure it’s easy to fall out of practice. I definitely feel that way a good amount when I play.
