Didn't see this coming

There might be another forum post about this but holy hell did anyone catch the new armor and emblem color in the new update?

In an effort to give players more choice and control over the look of the Spartan and Emblem the UI team worked to expand the color palette. For Armor, we now allow individual selection of Primary and Secondary colors, and for Emblems, individual selection Primary, Secondary, and Tertiary colors. There are no restrictions, so players can choose 2 of the same color to create a totally different looking emblem.

  • Players couldn’t make their armor color similar to the Master Chief or other major character - There was no brown, orange, purple, or black - There were not enough greens, and too many blues and pinks - Emblem “harmonies” (pre-set combinations) restricted player choiceSo, then team has made the following changes in the February update.
    Changes in February Update:

  • Expanded the color palette for armor and emblems from 32 to 60 colors - Replaced the emblem harmonies with simple, primary, secondary and tertiary color options (see below) - These new options have no restrictions – you can make any 2 of them the same color and get a completely different looking emblem shape - These new colors carry over to Waypoint as wellWow, I haven’t played Halo for about a week and now I came back to some good news. Anyone else stoked about this? I’m glad 343 is stepping up their game.

Very this sounds so awesome!

I was SOOOO happy when I found out about this. I am not even kidding it makes me want to play more now. This is something that should have happened from the start. I HATED that color scheme method they had for the emblems. Now if we can just get the options to mix and match torso, leg and arm armors we will be all set.

I actually kinda like the harmonies though It’d be nice to have an option to use them or modify them.

I love the freedom of this new style

It does sound sweet. When is the exact release date?

will this include armor colors as well? im looking at the ability to make the undersuit a different color form the plating, and make it black ideally

From what I saw, I don’t think I saw undersuit, unfortunately. All I know is the rest of the armor has more color. Still, this is a step forward for their customization.

I’m not sure about release date.

I’ve seen 26th February quoted by many people as the scheduled release date for Hammerstorm, including Halo Tracker.

I swear 343I is a team of nothing but marketing staff… They are treating this as if it’s a new feature when Halo has had this since Halo 2.

Well it IS a new feature to Halo 5.

I always looked at Halo as the one game that stood out for being of highest quality, and for always delivering on the promises
I never felt like Bungie was withholding information, or falsely hyping Halo… there was so much integrity in Halo.
343 has ruined all of that with their rampant deceit and unwarranted hype trains. Halo has been tarnished forever.

I think you would need to make your primary color black to have an all black undersuit.

Hmm I hadn’t actually checked what day the 26th fell on, and yeah they do indeed usually release on a Tuesday. I think it could be different this time though because the Tuesday following the 26th is the 1st March.

Halo Tracker:
"Hamerstorm Update

  • Scheduled for release on 02/26/16"

The 30th?
You might want to check your calendar for February…

343 doing a good job with some of these updates! Mostly looking forward to permanent Social CTF (thank the Lord! )

Definitely a welcome improvement.
