I bought Reach yesterday and finished campaign today, It turned out that the campaign was actually really sad, Carter and Emile’s death really got to me as they were my favourite characters.
Agreed, I found Jorge’s death to be the saddest IMO & Kat’s death caught me completely by suprise. It’s a sad story and like the advertisements said ‘From the beginning you know the end.’ which leads up to the great events that we all know and love from the rest of the Halo games.
Agreed. I loved the last level.
I laughed histerically when I saw Kat die. The other nobles’ deaths didn’t give me any other kind of emotion, though. The characters’ development is wack.

Reach is about a book! almost everybody who plays Halo knew how it was going to end, there was no surprise!
I only felt kinda bad about Jorge dying since he was the only SPARTAN 2 on the team(a true Spartan), As for everybody else dying I say “good riddance” Carter was a wuss, Kat is the biggest pain in the Yoink! and also useless, Emile thinks he’s a SPARTAN 2 but fails to see he’s a puny Spartan 3, Jun gets on my last nerve, and Noble6 (Master Chief’s Towel Boy) got his butt handed by a small Covenant unit, what a lame and pathetic so called Hero indeed!
I lost count of how many times my friends and I knocked the Noble Team characters off the map into death pits LoL! So we really enjoyed watching them die!
btw Towel Boy or Noble 6 as the DoR call him, did NOT save Master Chief! Remember without the SPARTAN 2s the Spartan 3s wouldn’t even exist, so in fact it was the SPARTAN 2 that saved the Spartan 3s in a strange turn of events!

You seem to be mistaking the Fall of Reach, a novel based on John-117 and his fellow Spartan-IIs, their genesis, their first missions and the eventual demise of most of them, with Halo: Reach, a video-game based on the hardships of the mostly Spartan-III Noble Team as they fought in events that led up to the last few chapters of the novel and then further compliment said last chapters.
We know the ending to many to stories, that doesn’t change the significance of those events because so.
AND,
If Noble6 shooting down a Covenant cruiser before it gets within firing range of the PoA, to which all evidence shows that failure of that action would result in the destruction of the general area, isn’t saving the Chief on his was off to CEA, then what is?
Emile wasn’t needed, but perhaps Carter’s sacrifice is as strong as 6’s, while everyone else is just a casualty of war.

We all knew how it was going to end, but just watching them die was bad enough, Kat annoyed me, yeah, but that doesn’t change anything.
Maybe Emile wasn’t needed, maybe he was if you looked outside the box…

Couldn’t have said it better myself.

I, too, thought it was a pretty epic way to end the campaign. “Survive.”
You had to know they were all going to die.
a little late cause the games been out for over a year so also you dont need to say spoiler alert when a game is this old.
i say all of noble teams members were needed, jorge manualy detonated a covenant super carrier buying humanity time, jun didnt do anything but he didnt die soooo i dont know what to say, but emile gave 6 time to protect cortana because those phantoms would have killed him, carter sacraficed himself so you could continue through with the mission, cat…well i guess she opened a door in the begging but she gave us thousands of laughs as she failed miserably at tasks such as driving. lastly, if you knew more about reach you would know that noble six has the same ranking of master chief, HYPER LETHAL. noble team wasnt trying to annialate the covenant, they were just buying humanity some time. so there is my rant, that was a mouthful, im gonna take a nap.
most of us know how campaign ended, and are quite over that fact. please stop making these threads.

I seriously hope you’re kidding.
Noble team in it’s entirety is pathetic.
Jorge is too cliché.
Emily is simple stupid. He failed to shoot down a phantom coming at him and later failed to notice a Zealot that landed 10 feet from him.
Had he not been an arrogant “spartan”, he would of lived.
Carter, meh. I laughed.
Kat, the only “decent” death of the team.
Overall.
Noble team - lame
Their deaths - Pathetic and cliché.

No confusion here, I guess I should have been more thorough about what I meant. Reach is based around a Halo Book and that book being about Reach. Not necessarily Fall of Reach in that exact same way. I guess in other words Reach is to CE, what ODST is to Halo 2. Everyone knew the outcome of ODST cause of H2, and everyone knew the outcome of Reach cause of a Halo Book.
Not knowing moment per moment but we all knew the planet was doomed since the moment we heard there was a Halo game coming out called “Reach”! And as for Chief’s Towel Boy saving Chief, at that moment that could be said of course. But also remember Jorge saved Towel Boy when they destroyed the Covenant Corvette, and by saving Towel Boy he technically saved the Chief too so who really saved the Chief?
Was it Lame Commander Carter for kamikazing into a Scarab?
Chief’s Towel Boy for shooting down some Covis to let the PoA escape?
Captain Keys for piloting the PoA out to safety and waking up the Chief?
Stupid Emile for jumping on a Elite’s back to knife him and letting Towel Boy shoot down the Covis?
Pain in the butt Kat for opening a stupid door to let Noble Team in when they were out numbered to safety so they could carry out the rest of the Campaign?
The Marines who supplied Noble Team jet-packs to advance on the mission to later on complete their entire goal?
Many people contributed to the saving of PoA which carried Chief, down to the lonely Marine Sniper who probably shot down a Covi about to kill a Noble Team member. Cheif’s Towel Boy shot down some Covis woow whooo! big deal! Chief destroyed Fleet Star Ships, 2 Halo rings (same one twice), The Halo Ark, killed God know how many poor Covenants, a Covi Prophet, Stormed into Flood infested High Charity and pulled Cortana out, And he pretty much saved the entire Human race from extinction!
lets see Chief’s Towel Boy do better…oh wait he got murdered by some Elites and Grunts! “pathetic :/”
in the end NO ONE saved Master Chief since his demise came at the hands of two humans, Sage and Derek! funny though how Chief almost gave his life to save humanity and yet it was these two humans that killed him!
Jorge’s death was the only one that really made me feel anything towards any of the characters. I was more than happy when Kat died due to the number to deaths due to driving by Kat. I didn’t mind Carter, but after doing the achievement for PoA assasination, I hated Emile
The entire planet gets glassed, we knew this before the campaign. It’s all very sad. Epic Sadness!
Your sorrow is abit late.
