Didact Question (terminals/books)

So I watched all the Halo 4 terminals and if the Librarian locked him in well that giant ball i guess, was he trapped until chief woke him? What about in the books (only read summary and things on halopedia) where Born found him and woke him and then all that memory stuff went down? If that was maybe after the librarian trapped him but before chief, how did one of the didacts go to sleep again?

-Also as a side note at the end of the last terminal video it had those forerunner symbols and i tried to enter them in the classified code enter thing and it didnt work but i was wondering if that was part of an already figured out code or maybe part of a future one

I think it has to do with the timeline. The Didact is put into his crypt um after the human-forerunner war, but before the firing of the halo… this is where Born stellar finds him… on a world that is "off limits " to forerunners, Earth. The events of Cryptum and Primordium take place BEFORE the firing of the halo array. The Ur-Didact is captured by the Master Builder. Born stellar becomes the new Didact, and husband of the librarian. I think the Ur-Didact never truly dies, and comes back at some point. In the game it says the Didact uses the composer on himself, and when the composer is used on biologicals it fractures their personalities as well as creates abominations when they attempt to put them back to themselves. The composer is slightly covered in Primordium and seems more of an object of interest than something well known about. I personally think that what the Librarian describes takes place WELL after Primordium, the turning of the Promethians and Humans into knights. Honestly I think Silentium will explain a lot of this, hence its release AFTER the game came out.

It will all tie in, they consulted Greg Bear when making the game and he wrote the Forerunner saga. I’m pretty sure Silentium will tell you how the Ur-Didact uses the composer and creates the Promethean Knights. Halo 4 kind of gave you the result of what happened in Silentum. I think this is why the didact is how he is.

> In the last years of the Forerunner empire, chaos rules. The Flood has arrived in force, aided by an unexpected ally. Internal strife within the ecumene has desperately weakened Forerunner defenses.
>
> Too little, too late, the legal rate of Juridicals is only now investigating possible crimes by the Master Builder and others. Evidence-gathering agents known collectively as Catalog have been dispatched to collect testimony from the Librarian and both Didacts: the Ur-Didact, treacherously abandoned in a Flood-infested system, and the Bornstellar Didact, who accompanies the Librarian as she preserves specimens against the dire possibility of Halo extermination.

> Facing the imminent collapse of their civilization, the Librarian and the Ur-Didact reveal what they know about the relationship between the long-vanished Precursors and the Flood.
>
> The Precursors created many technological species, including humanity and the Forerunners. But the roots of the Flood may be found in an act of enormous barbarity, carried out beyond our galaxy ten million years before…
>
> Because of that barbarism, a greater evil looms. Only the Ur-Didact and the Librarian—husband and wife pushed into desperate conflict—hold the keys to a solution.
>
> Facing the consequences of a mythic tragedy, one of them must now commit the greatest atrocity of all time—to prevent an insane evil from dominating the entire universe.
