So judging by the prometheans look, and the fact that it is two times the height of everything else, it is safe to say that he is back.

also if you look closely his armour is different and his legs are floating. (Evident of being composed)

it also can’t be another promethean because the Didact is the only commander of the warrior servants, and never chose a successor.

Meh, a bit early to jump to conclusions. For all we know we might actually have to fight real forerunners in Halo 5.

Well, the Didact was composed in the Halo: Escalation comic, and the story arc where that happened (which, incidentally, also involved the Chief reuniting with Blue Team) was written by Brian Reed, who’s also the lead writer on Halo 5. It makes sense that he’d write that in the comic in order to set up what happens in the game.

A good assumption, but an assumption, nonetheless.

It’s just to show scale. I wouldn’t get too excited.

Also that’s not him, the armor and his head is completely different from Halo 4.

Looks more like this guy, whom Greenskull showed us earlier today. I’m hoping the Didact isn’t back in a single lifeform capacity. That would be weird to have to deal with again.

they are nothing alike, on that same chart the soldier promethean is shown two silhouettes before the didact.

Had no idea. The link in the OP only shows two characters.

Wow, it’s almost as if the point of this thread is showing the fact that he looks different, Sherlock.

Interesting

He’s one of my favorite villains

I really hope he isn’t back. For my sake and 343’s.

I have a feeling fans won’t be too excited if he shows up after being killed TWICE (or once if they have only played the game). And since Cortana is sorta back with the Halo 3-esque visions, it’d be to many dead characters coming back to life.

I’m not an expert in Halo Lore, but couldn’t it be a different Diadact? After all, it is a position, not a specific entity (similar to the fact John has the rank of Master Chief, but there could be others with the same rank). This may or may not be canon (I heard it somewhere once), but it’d make sense if the Forerunner kept an imprint of previous Diadact’s personality for consulting. So if that imprint managed to contact the Domain, he could theoretically build/manifest a body like the Promethean soldiers.

I don’t remember if were Frankie or Bonnie, but I’m sure one of them confirmed that the Didact would have a role in Halo 5 Guardians
Edit: Were it in Xbox Magazine
Edit: I found the link !

He didn’t never die. If you have read Halo Escalation, you could read that he didn’t die in Halo 4’s end, and also you could read in Halo Escalation that he was composed.

I honestly hope the Didact doesn’t come back. I loved him as a villan don’t get me wrong, but I feel it would feel kind of forced having him in the Halo 5. Also, if he can survive a piece of a -Yoinking!- halo incinerating him, then he’s pretty unbeatable

I hope he is back because he is one of chief’s biggest enemy and to see him killed off so fast is just stupid. The didact can also bring out master chief’s power that the librarian gave him.

That’s him alright

I don’t think it’s him. I hope he’s in the game but let’s not forget about those mega blocks forerunner + ship combo. That looks more like the forerunner you are talking about
