Didact is ___, and heres why. (SPOILERS)

SPOILERS AHOY.
Thr Didact is alive. The Composer has no effect on him. He cannot be ‘composed’. Going through the Composer’s beam did nothing at all to him. Since the beam itself does no physical damage either, it didn’t even fry him. The fact that he contemplates his failure in the epilogue also proves it. I suspect he’s lying in wait somewhere, thinking of another way to eradicate the humans and bring the Forerunners/Prometheans back to their rightful place as protectors of the galaxy. That’s why the final battle was so lackluster. He’s not dead.

My prediction? He’ll live through Halo 5 as well, and die in Halo 6, a la reactor-core-exploding Infinity.

On a side note, I also supsect MC will have totally new armor in Halo 5 through 6. Possibly Mark VII, or simply Gen2 armor.

Thoughts?

I fully agree. Games with these kinds of antagonists are so stereotyped and translucent.

Whether or not the Composer can affect the Didact, I’m willing to bet a nuclear weapon can (and you know how the Halo series loves chain reactions, I wouldn’t be surprised if the core of his spaceship exploded as well).

The narration at the end is, I believe, the Diadect addressing some sort of forerunner council during the Human-Forerunner war that is described in the Cryptum/Primordium books.

As far as him being composed goes. I’d be more worried about that nuke that Chief set.

The old rule will hold true: If there’s no body it’s not dead.

Cortana and the Didact will return. Cortana will be repaired by Chief and the Didact will join with humanity to fight against the flood. Just my prediction.

Glad to see other people understand the composer as well.

My prediction for Halo 5-6 is that the flood will return. It needs to, otherwise the Didact would be limited. If I know my Halo lore right the Didact was composing humans to avoid the flood taking them over. There is no way that the Didact was too lazy to understand the flood is dead. He probably already knows that the flood is still alive.

The Didact isn’t dead. However, I see no reason why he wouldn’t be composed. He originally composed his Prometheans, so we know Forerunners are capable of being composed, so I don’t see what would make him immune.

Thanks for the faith in my ability to survive :’(

Seriously though, Didact is dead. The speech you hear at the end is him addressing the Forunner Council after the Forunner-Human war. This is the speech he gives to justify his actions and stay out of Cryptum. But they imprison him anyways

Whilst contemplating his failure, doesn’t he also give up? So even if he is alive it doesn’t make sense for him to come back angry. He sounded pretty tranquil at the end.

Last Time I checked MC shoved a grenade in his chest and then nuked his ship…

He did fall over earth. And isn’t the librarian alive somewhere on earth? Maybe he will find ger

THE ENDING IS A SPEECH HE SAID YEARS AGO. HE CLEARLY SAYS, I STAND BEFORE YOU, ACCUSED OF A CRIME… LAST I CHECKED HE WASNT STANDING OR BEING ACCUSED AT THE END OF H4. HE ALSO SAYS WE ARE FORERUNNERS AND LAST I CHECKED, THEY DIED YEARS AGO.

IMO:

  1. The Didact has been composed and is a new meta-being like Cortana is
    I say Cortana isn’t gone.

  2. I now believe the AI council from Reach, they’re the very few out of millions that were composed and kept their “sanity”. They are the Lord of Admirals and his council. They protected us as long as the could and now it is their turn to disappear from the universe completely as it is ours to take it.
