I have a theory on the Didact and Cortana still being alive. I believe that when the Didact fell he fell into a portal back to Requiem. The reason i think that it’s a portal is because how else would human memories of New Phoenix wind up there. As for Cortana i believe she secretly implanted part of her self onto the Didact. What do you guys think?

A New Phoenix resident was Composed, turned into a Knight on Requiem and then it’s AI matrix was given to Jul 'Mdama?
If you ask me, they’re dead and they should stay dead. There are many, many more possible enemies/allies that could “replace” them. Their deaths were well done, and should not be un-done.
It’s much more interesting to see Chief try to accept and deal with Cortana’s death than deny it. Her death was beautiful and meaningful in the game.
