When they first announced all the LE content, it looked like many people really liked the Recruit armor and got the LE for that. It seemed like everyone thought the armor was exclusive to the LE. But when they announced that it was actually the default armor, I posted it on the forums, and everyone said they never thought the Recruit armor was exclusive, which was very different from what I saw just a month ago.
I thought they said the Recruit armour was part of LE, not just the skin. I probably must of mis-read it. But ah well, I’m not bothered as long as I and people get to wear the ODST looking armour.
No, the place I pre ordered it from had it listed as “Unique in-game Spartan-IV armor skin” since the start
A lot of websites and stores publicised Recruit as exclusive armour (that isn’t why I got the LE). But the revelation of this and especially the WGMP fiasco has de-valued the LE for quite a lot of people (not myself).

^^ This exactly - I never really cared about the FUD stuff but the map pack and exclusive armour (which many places pitched and 343 did nothing to clarify until now - well after pre-orders have been made) are what incentivised the LE purchase.
Long gone are the days when you got artbooks and soundtracks for your extra money - now you get poorly clarified content thats only marginally different from the standard edition and in light of the WGMP fiasco you technically get less.
Really it should have been:
Standard Game
Standard + WGMP (maps + helmets) purchasable later
LE (Recruit Armor + Prime Skin + WGMP + helmets)
LE Console (Has everything above + FOTUS Exclusives)
