I did not like the story at all.
But first i think it look very well designed, they environments, the scenery look beautiful. It really provied challenging and intense moments. And the cutscenes looked fantstic, amazing graphic. But as for the story and what we had to do was deeply disappointing.
It was boring for a lot of it, basically just pushing switches and buttons all the way through. There was nothing interesting about it.
They allow us to operate an armed pelican for the first time ever and introduced a new air craft the broadsword. Where we the battles for those parts? all we did was fly to a couple of towers engaging a few phantoms. Then when in the broadsword all we did was dodge object and take down a some turrets. Where were the big scale battles they promised?
All the focus and excitement pointed towards the ancient evil, all the cryptic symbols, the slogans in the marketing. All we got of the Didact was a 1 minute long cutscene and then he just falls of a bridge at the end. He barely did anything, we only seen him twice throughout the whole game. And we didnt even get to fight him, I cannot believe we didnt get to fight him.
The covies to me felt like the main enemy, and the lack of engagement and involvement from the didact made the prometheans feel as the side enemies rather than the covenant.
The ending was very sad and emotional 343 did a brillaint job on that.
I’m not blindly bashing or flaming, this is just my honest opinion.
