Did you know how easy it is to headshot?

I found this out in a custom match a couple days ago, decided I’d like to give you all something to test out. I have only tested this out with the dmr, I’m not sure if this works with the other precision weapons.

-Go into a custom with a friend
-Get some distance between the two of you
-Pull out DMR
-Aim at his head
-Move your aiming reticule above his head, but make sure that it stays red
-Pull the trigger

It can be so far off of your buddies head that the center doesn’t even come close to touching. You can literally pull as high as it will go up, but as long as it’s red, auto aim kicks in and gives you the headshot. I did found out about this pulling off a complete wtf headshot in a bridge fight across Solace. Your head has the hitbox nearly the same as your chest. Fun fact, go try it out for yourself.

I went back to play Halo Reach a few days later, and actually found myself shooting the “final shot” at someone…and turning away to continue looking for other targets

only to realize I actually missed the last shot, because I’m used to the aim assist in Halo 4

I tried this and wow… Im amazed at how big the head hitbox is now and im not amazed in a good way.

Everyone knew how easy headshots were form day one, so i do not think that you are bringing up anything new, but thanks for voicing your opinion to improve the game. However, things like strafing and jumping separates who can point and shoot from who can aim. Who knows maybe, things would be better if it was like it was in halo 3. I know a lot less people would be getting ordnance even less if we get a dmr nerf ( which will hopefully be in the TU)

In every Halo game EVERYONE aims for the head.
The circular reticules and aim assist make it ridiculously easy to headshot now that I think about it…

As was I

This isn’t completely true in Halo 4 though. Go try it to see how massive the hitbox on your head is. Strafing is nothing more than a mindgame anymore due to how large your hitbox is. Auto-aim can carry your shots harder than in any other Halo.

That is true but, i strafe backwards, fowards, and i back jump to the left or right. I do this to keep my body in constant movement and directions so that the enemy will get thrown off. The only time i really have a problem is if its the dmr or more then one person is shooting at me. However, i understand your complaints. Ill be the first one to admit that it is a lot easier, but i think the hitbox is the only problem.

The hit box isn’t the problem, it’s the bullet magnetism.
Proof? do the same test with the sticky det, top, left or right of the target, it doesn’t matter, you’ll throw curve balls at the face each and every time.

Hit box is actually the same as it has always been. The reticle however is redicuoulously large.

Its good if dmr was only usefull as a long range weapon however… you can spam the trigger so fast it is also effective at close ranges. Slowing down its rate of fire will be good start to make this large reticle issue less appearant.

Have you played ANY Halo? They all do this. If it’s red, it’s a hit.

I miss when having an efficient strafe meant making the opponent miss. Now, with this massive bullet magnetism, strafing does damn near nothing. I’ve tried out so many different strafes all in vain where jumping is the only thing that causes someone to miss a headshot anymore. It sucks.

massive bullet magnetism, coupled with insane aim assist and hit scan, has completely killed strafing at anything but CQC distance.

Unless the game lags.

Imgur

It always would pick up red if it would be a hit. Go run my test before you make yourself look like an idiot. In Halo it’ll always show a little dot in the middle of your crosshairs if you’re going to land a headshot. Your aiming reticule doesn’t even have to be close anymore.

Me, was replaying to what he posted. So you might want to open your own link. He posted, “”-Move your aiming reticule above his head, but make sure that it stays red""
