A few little known facts about Halo 5 (feel free to add your own below):
- You can splatter a Mantis if you boost into it with a Wraith.
- All weapons deal additional damage when firing at the head (only if the enemies shield is down).
- Clench Protection disables boosting in Forge when enabled.
- Three Rare Emblems, Hammer, Screw, and Cowboy Ninja, are only available from Gold Packs, even though they should also appear in Silver Packs.
- The Magnum is the only Loadout Weapon that lacks a Black/Orange/White Weapon Skin.
- There are no Level 9 REQs in the game.
- The Mythic Assasination, Emile’s Regards, is actually the fastest Assassination in the game (by a slight margin).
- The Orbital Helmet lacks the skull it previously had in Halo 4.
- The Reaper Body Armor is a stylized version of Master Chief’s custom Mark VI.
- Visors of each Campaign Character: Blue Team: Dynasty, Buck: Secrets or Aureus, Tanaka: Remembrance, Vale: Muse, and Locke: Mithral or Resolute.
- Jul M’dama has armor on his forearms in Halo 5 that he explicitly lacked in every previous depiction of him.
- The Twin Jewels of Maethrillian is the only Weapon Variant to appear in two Campaign Missions: Reunion and Guardians.
- There are two versions of the Mark VI armor: The Mark VI [Gen 2] (Ultra Rare + 3 skins), and the Mark VI [Gen 1] (Mythic + 1 skin). Both of these sets are virtually identical, with the only difference being the color schemes (and the Scarred “skin”).
- 4 Helmets that appeared previously as preorder bonuses for Halo 4 now have an armor set that is identical to another Halo 4 set: Scanner=Soldier Body, Deadeye=FOTUS Body, Locus=Aviator Body, and Strider=Enforcer Body.
- Nearly every REQ in Halo 5 is considered Canon, with the following exceptions: Eh, Ar (AR skin), Locke and Loaded (Magnum Skin), Boomco AR + Magnum Skins, and the FOTUS Armor Set (the body, however, is canonically the Deadeye Armor).

I read that as ghost first. Then went back to quote you, then realized it said wraith. Now a little disappointed.
Nice list.
I remember driving to a bunch of 7 11’s in one day to get that Locus helmet. Was it worth it? probably not. But that’s the only helmet i used for the whole game.

Yeah, I preordered the Limited from Gamestop. Got the Strider and Scanner Helms. Didn’t get Locus or Deadeye until I bought the GOTY edition (don’t judge me, I’m a completionist).
i never knew you could splatter a mantis

I discovered it the hard way: During the final mission of my Heroic Campaign Playthrough, I ended up in a Mantis facing off against te Wraith near the console that activates after you destroy the cores. The Wraith was close enough to me that I decided to stomp it, but before I could press the button I was suddenly slammed by a point-blank Wraith Boost, killing me and resetting my progress.
I later got a friend on to see if this works in MP. Banshees and Ghosts cannot Splatter Mantises, while Wraiths can.
How did you find out what skins are considered canon?

The Boomco skins are obviously Product Placement, and their descriptions refer to the HALO UNIVERSE as a separate entity from what is implied to be the “normal” universe. The FOTUS armor has been stated by 343i to be noncanon. However, much like all of the product placement Emblems and the Mister Chief related REQs, it is possible that it does exist within the Halo Canon, albeit not in the same context that it is presented in in the games.

The mantis strikes me as being really scrawny, if I hit that things legs with a boosting tank, I think that the momentum would knock it over.
I’ve splattered a Warthog with a Wraith, they’re great at close range!

Very interesting. However if we aren’t counting weak points on Hunters, Promethan Soldiers,Knights and Warden Eternal plus vehicular weak spots, not all weapons get extra damage. The only weapons besides Precisions and Snipers that have headshot bonuses are as following:
- Assault Rifle deals double damage (2x multipler) on enemy Spartan’s head and enemy weakpoints and kills in 3 headshots vs 6 bodyshots.
- The SMG has a 1.5 multipler and kills in 4 headshots vs 6 bodyshots. Same applies to enemy weakpoints.
- The SAW has a 1.6 multipler and kills in 3 headshots vs 5 bodyshots. Ditto on above.
- The Boltshot deals about 1.10x damage to the head and kills in the same exact amount of shots. See above.
- The Railgun(!) can actually deal headshot damage. Unknown multipler at this time.
The Scattershot’s hard light projectiles can ricochet off hard surfaces and will home in on enemies after doing so.
Actually there’s an additional physical difference between the GEN I and GEN II Mk VI armors. It rests with the lack or inclusion of the cod piece, or the “space dipper” as some have affectionately called it in the past.

Hm. I hadn’t noticed that. I’ll have to look again, it seems.

Dang, that’s some nice data. I forgot to mention that a weakpoint is identified by red arrows around the reticule, but it would seem that it’s an unnecessary detail.
