Maybe the the things that you unlock that effect game play will play more like Battlefield then call of duty? im almost positive that the things we unlock will most likely only effect things like how many grenades or extra ammo( or whatever just thinking of random stuff)… i highly doubt we will be unlocking things similar to juggernaut or stopping power. trust me, i think we all are over reacting because all we are thinking about is COD
You have to have some faith, they are not going to throw halo out the window, just help it evolve into something even more amazing and creative.
p.s im not new to halo, been playing sense 2003
I think these “perks” will be just modifications to your weapons, ammo, and speed. (run twice as much, firerate is 15% faster, etc.)

i agree, i doubt the fire rate thing only for balancing purposes but everything else is pretty much how i see it
Even if it is only small little things like “ammo, scope range, sprint duration,” the point is is that you cannot have pure balance with customizable loadouts in any way, shape, or form. No matter how you spin it, sometimes more ammo will benefit you greater than a longer scope range, and vice versa. This is not what Halo was about in its early roots, and this is the most basic principle that competitive oriented players are frustrated about.
exactly was i had in mind

It’s still fair in the sense that everyone has the capability to level up and get what perks they want. Also, just because Halo didn’t start out with a perk system or a sprint system, doesn’t mean it shouldn’t have them now… no FPS on the Xbox had perks or sprint ten years ago. Times change, and perks are popular now. I’m ecstatic to see these changes

i was a competitive (h2, h3) player and i can tell you that i don’t care.
none of this stuff will affect competitive players if they don’t want it to.
if it is imbalanced, guess what? it won’t be in MLG. we will get balanced and competitive custom games less than a week in, if they didn’t put in a team classic or team hardcore (which they will)
so before freaking out, think about that. you aren’t gonna see people throwing 70 nades in MLG. it’s all good. let the casuals have their fun.
look what we got? br, with a 1.334 second minimum kill time…hitscan…faster movement speed…no bloom…maps not taken out of campaign…
we got a lot. it’s a give/get relationship here, and we gotta respect what they are doing for casuals as they are catering to us too.
