i had a blast. i went to the Microsoft store party and i got $5 off the game, plus a $25 gift card, and 3 Ltd Ed Plush Grunts. there was also a LAN tournament, which i didnt do too well in. placed 3rd on my team, not sure where i placed in the whole tournament.
so, did you go to the microsoft store (or any launch party, for that matter)? if so, what perks did you get?
I went to the one in Los Angeles. I arrived at 4 PM and waited 6 hours before we finally got in. I got a $25 gift card, a grunt plush, a poster, and an action figure. I got the game’s cover, poster, and action figure signed by Frankie and got to meet him and David Ellis, and also met some nice people including a pretty popular youtuber.

Went to the one in Scottsdale, AZ. Traveled north with my gf from Tucson for the event.
It was nice when we got there, was 7th in line which was hilarious. (what are the odds)
But further in as more people started to show up, it was way too congested and seemed to be poorly put together when it came time to pick up the game. Was just happy when I picked up my copy, my swag bag, my gift card, and my grunt plushy and looked forward to traveling the two hours home in the wee hours of the morning…
Needless to say, I hope that the next time around for Halo 4 will be more organized.
Misread as “Lunch Party”. Suppose I’ll head off now…
OT: I went to a midnight release. I got a free Halo hat, and I ALMOST got a free copy of the game. There was a tournament with the Anniversary maps/gametypes. Me and my brother entered, and won every game we played. It got down to just my brother, some other guy, and I. So, we had a 2/3 chance of getting the game, since they were gonna pull a name out of a hat. The other guy’s name got drawn. rage
I live in Mississippi, and launch parties are only in the north. But, I did go to a midnight release at a local gamestop. I would say 45% were there for Halo Anniversary, 40% for AC Revelations, and 15% for Saints Row 3. So, we did nothing but wait in line.
