Did you expect Halo 4?

This is probably very late, but when Halo 3 came out, did you think they would make a sequel? I figured they would make spin offs, but I didn’t think they would go on to make Halo 4. I thought the Chief’s fate would be revealed in some novels.

I thought they’d do something, be it a game, movie, or even a book. Leaving the chief to just float in space heading towards an ominous planet is a s**tty way to end a franchise.

It’s funny how people called it a legendary ending when you could to the final mission on easy, and just watch the credits to see the final cutscene with the chief in space.

OT: Yes, i did think they would do at least one more with chief as the main protag.

I knew halo 3 would have a sequel after i finished campaign

True but you didn’t see the forerunner planet in the background.

Does successful game eventually get a sequel? Yes, I think we all saw it coming at some point.

I didn’t expect a full on sequel, especially since Bungie said they were pretty much done telling the story of the Master Chief. I figured they’d likely just leave Chief in space in order to pull that “his fate is up to youuuuuu!” -Yoink-.

I am pleased that Bungie doesn’t own Halo anymore.

Sort of, and sort of not.

When Halo 3 was released, I sort of accepted that it would be the last one. I had hopes & dreams for Halo 4, but it always seemed like something that would sit in development Hell forevermore.

I never expected Halo 4 to be as good as it seems it will be, though. Roll on November 6th!

anybody who thought MS was just going to let halo…of all things…just die after 3 because bungie wanted to do other stuff was just being naive

i was way more surprised by ODST and reach , seeing as how it was clear bungie didnt want to do them

The legendary ending simply led me to believe we would have some kind of spin off game set after H3 and that’d be the end of it.

YES

Nope, I was like 12 years old when I finished Halo 3, and my argument was, the Halo games (CE, 2 & 3) was a Trilogy, so they couldn’t continue the Chief’s story.

But of course, I didn’t have the brain to figure out that making a new trilogy or saga was possible.

I knew that they were going to make another Halo, the demand was so high and I though they were going to make a new sega with new people. But yeah,
We all knew

No, i honestly shed a few tears after i finished the campaign.

  1. Because Sgt Johnson died.
  2. Because i thought it was the last Halo.

It was obliviously clear that there would be a sequel. 343 coming into being, the stat transfer, the spin-offs and prequel were not expected.
