All the glyphs and stonehenges and all that other crap in the city…were they just there for us to look at? I thought we were gonna find some really cool stuff in the city, which we kind of did, but it just didn’t make sense, I wish there were more to the glyphs and the stone pillars. Feels like Bungie put it there so we would think there was a mystery solve and then going to try to solve it like idiots.
In the end the city just became an huge box of weapons, enemies and mission locations, with the added atmosphere and music. The first times were great but now you kind of want to explore and there isn’t too much to see, aside from the glyphs and pillars which drive you crazy because you try to find something that’s probably not even there.
Quite a few little eggs here and there, car licence plates relating to spartan names from halo reach, possible Destiny reference in a poster etc, but if there is an overarching squid subplot related to the glyphs, i dont think it was ever found.
Its like that switch in the middle of nowhere on delta halo in Halo 2, it drove people crazy for years and bungie just kept a trollface on the whole time.

True to bungies troll face…xD…Coffee can’t fix a troll face! Frank O’C is pro!
> It seems like we would get some answers from someone by now. I love easter eggs like this, but man this is ridiculous.
Yeah and the worst part is that there might not be anything at all, which is pretty annoying, I don’t see the point in putting those glyphs there at all, even if they happen to “tell a story”. I don’t know, maybe they did it so your imagination would do the rest of the thinking.
It’s probable they’re just there for the atmosphere.
Look at the Forerunner glyphs on 343 Guilty Spark. I’m pretty sure their color indicated which doors were ok to go through and which were not. Also, they were there in the classic. They’re mostly gone in the new graphics.
