By the end of all this, 343 won’t have any friends anyways; no harm no foul right?
Nope its a giant step backward, now we can’t even search players. 343’s next update is set to corrupt all files on our xbox’s.
Not even GTA V’s launch was this horrendous.
Only thing I’ve noticed is you can find a game faster solo. Still broken as ever if you try to play with a friend.
In my 2 hours of frustration tonight all of the original problems with menus, party problems, players can’t join my session and I can’t joint theirs, freezing, unbalanced teams, are still there and Ive actually noticed a few new ones.
Playing Halo CE the hit beeper is gone, and hit detection seems worse than ever. Also playing a game of derelict all of the ambient sounds randomly went silent, only sounds were gunfire and noises players made, it was weird.
Also it froze for me multiple times at the carnage report countdown, stays at players found for ever in the matchmaking lobby, some players have a spinning loading circle next to their name, games won’t start even if the lobby has 8 players, it always attempts to fill it with 9 at minimum.
If you’re a solo player it may be better for you. But with friends its just as bad if not worse than ever. Not sure what got fixed
I got about two matches in before it stopped working. Now I’m stuck in “Downloading latest data” for the second time. 
Blows my mind at how bad this online system is. How hard is it to set up a working matchmaking system when it literally is nothing new. This “fix” is complete horse ****. Worst launch of any game I have played in over 10 years. Too bad Halo had to be the game for this wrecking ball of a launch. At least we have campaign… anyone want my game for like $5
Lag everygame and they didn’t fix anything I give up on halo. Time 2 move on
Power cycle your xbox…I did and 6 matches so far, no problems, countdown to next match, all that.

LOL WHAT? Did you even try to play gta V day 1? Don’t get me wrong im not defending 343 here, but nothing compares to gta v’s launch. At least I could get a mm game occasionaly here day 1.
Class action lawsuit is inevitable at this point.
Millions of new consoles purchased just to play H1-3 online in HD. I wasted over $1100 over the last 12 months on this worthless system.
Every single experience was like this for all 6 games. Plus the operating system is the worst most unstable, un-user friendly, and feature limited OS I’ve seen in 15 years.

I’m 99% sure that RockStar came out months before GTA5 was to be released and said that GTA5 Online would not be available on day one, and they would unlock it after a month or two. They claimed that it was so people would experience the campaign before jumping online. Now that may have been a complete lie and the online component was not ready, but at least they did not advertise that it would be playable from the start. On top of that, nobody ever bought any game in the GTA franchise to play multiplayer.
Halo, on the other hand, was heavily promoted to “give us that classic halo multiplayer experience we all remember” and they always made a big deal to emphasize that it contained every single map from Halo’s 1 - 4, and had an awesome playlist system that would seamlessly go from game to game. So here we are, a week and a half after launch, and multiplayer still does not function properly. And that’s with two patches even. How much longer until it works? I can’t see the matchmaking ever actually getting better because, by the time they’ve fixed it (that’s assuming that they can ever fully fix it), a large chunk of the community will have moved on.
Personally, I don’t find it particularly fun to search for a game for 20 minutes, play the game for 5 minutes, then have the post game carnage report say “Game Incomplete” and then find myself back at the menu again having to start my search all over again.
I should not have to spend more time searching for a game than I do playing the game.
