Did the Spirit of Fire have a prototype FTL drive?

How was SoF/Serena able to track the location of where the covenant were taking Anders, let alone get there (the shield world) in mere seconds after the covenant arrived there? When humans have much more inferior slipspace tech and Ive never seen an instance where UNSC tracking covvie slipscace locations/tragectories ever.

How were they able to do that. They should have gotten their at least a week later. Its clear that they didnt use the same portal the covenant used as they come out from different flashes

She was tracking Ander’s transponder signal. That’s why she was able to track the ship, but only while it was in range. The Spirit of Fire herself most likely rode the Covenant ship’s Slipspace wake, which allowed her to go much faster than she normally would be able to.

but they come out of two separate slipspace wakes only a few km away from each other?

Neural physics. The only way to explain unreconcilable issues. Plus, the a Flood was there.

Well, we’ve seen time and time again that ships can be tracked to the planet they head towards. And don’t forget that Covenant ships are faster than human ships, so it’s reasonable that the Covenant ship had time to take cover before the Spirit of Fire got there.

The In Amber Clad came out of its own Slipspace portal as well in Halo 2, just because two ships enter the same portal does not mean they’re both going to spit out at exactly the same time or in exactly the same spot.
