Did the internet make Gamers more entitled!

I’m sure the internet made every person who uses it more entitled. Finally, everyone can have their voice heard except those who simply shouldn’t. But that’s against free speech…….

Anyways, I believe this game has its list of problems and being able to express our experiences/feedback is detrimental to anything the consumer can have. After all, we’re the one that pays all these developers bills. A shame we can’t all unite on the same front and have some impact on how developers release their games, ie unfinished or those who don’t like the F2P model.

No co op.

IDC what anyone says. Thats a sin that it launched like that and that’s just one missing features. There’s many more

Nah, developers have gotten greedy and don’t seem to care since the internet. Before online gaming was big games had to have real content and work great on day of release… Now with online stuff why make games that fully function or have tons of content as it can just be patched and released later.

Well there’s Forge, Co-op, actual options for colours just to name a few that are missing. I like Infinite and I agree, it has solid bones. Everything that needs changing can be changed as the cor is fantastic. And I agree with Halo 5 not feeling like Halo. Good multiplayer, just not Halo.

You’re basically saying, “Other games have been having worse issues at release, so it’s okay for Halo to have issues”, but that isn’t right.

The issues haven’t been insignificant.
No co-op, no Forge, no Firefight and no custom games matchmaking.
A lack of maps, a lack of modes, a lack of playlists and a lack of customization.
Issues with servers, issues with custom games and issues with gameplay.
Overpriced campaign and overpriced customization.

This I agree with.

That was the beginning of an awful future for video games.

I agree.

Things that were included before as part of the games are now being sold, and one set of armor costs the same as a third of the game…
Other things that were included before at launch are now being added almost a year later.

I wouldn’t say developers have become lazy, but developers have been dropping the ball even before the pandemic (mostly because of publishers).

The problem is they didn’t include enough content to keep people content.
Forge, Firefight, etc.

It’s not the players’ responsibility to consider how the playlists and modes work or to think something is more fun than it is.
Companies are supposed to be enticing people, not getting them to work.
If something is unsatisfactory, it’s up to companies to remedy that to try to prevent people from leaving or not spending money on their game.

Things take time to change, and I’m okay with waiting, but they really shouldn’t have released the game so soon when they knew so much was missing from it.

People are way more entitled than they used to be, but game producers have also really pooped the bed in recent years on many big titles.

We have no obligation to be reasonable with any developer or publisher.

This isn’t a negotiation. It’s a transaction, purely a transaction.

The fact so many gamers think it is a barter, is why devs and publishers keep pushing the limits of what is acceptable for a games release and monetization.

Your attitude is part of the problem of AAA gaming. The fact you think any developer or publisher deserves slack and would suggest it’s our problem as the consumer, for the cost of production. Oh and BTW the traditional pricing model is absolutely still profitable.

It isn’t our problem they clearly had development hell disasters internally.

I’m just offended you would suggest that my position is hypocritical. That is absurd.

My friend having empathy for a game series I love and understanding that the devs are just like me n have been through a lot should not offend you. If anything you should adopt that mentality… it makes life easier…

343i hasn’t t given me a reason to be hostile or assume they are just money hungry… do I believe their pricing model is a bit -Yoink!- given its F2P leanings… yes! It’s purely hoping sharks/whales keep ‘em rolling in the cash ala Apex/Fortnite… The Progression has been slowed down for this purpose. Yet there Battlepass structure is better than the rest as far as what you pay for and they have taken steps to open it up and still are.

I’m fully aware that games market current pricing model is profitable given we pay full price on digital in 2021. I’m not asking anyone to turn a blind eye… what I’m saying is that all the things ppl are complaining about the team and their social handlers have clearly heard the community and have provided feedback and a road map prior to and after the games MP went live. We as consumers just expect it to happen asap instead of waiting…

The game wasn’t broken at launch, had few to no crashes, general funkiness given live environment vs structured play testing is very different and for me expected. Halo’s 4 & 5 had better launched but a global pandemic wasn’t in the mix.

There’s no obligation, but I think it’s not a bad thing to have some sympathy or empathy for them.

That’s true, but it might not be the fault of most of the developers there either.

How are they to know what the community at large will want if they don’t let us play the game in the state they have built! Playlist, Progression are my only real gripes. Co-op they told us would be late as well as forge! I’m ok with it as I was given foreknowledge … it was communicated that these needed time and honestly I’d rather have it when it’s done n ready to use than broken so ppl can complain more.

Hope your enjoying the game and have dipped into the campaign for it is glorious.

Color options I’ll agree they have handled weirdly and I feel it’s all due to f2p… you can’t give away all the content, cause then what do you charge for? Forge, Co-op those are hills I feel ppl can’t die on as they where told they will come late as they weren’t rdy! If they had dropped a broken forge like they did in 5 the internet would have pitch forks even tho the vast majority don’t use it.

Co-op I can wait on as I’m enjoying my play through solo and always do prior to jumping into co-op I maybe an outlier on that but that’s just my preference. As you mentioned the game has solid bones and that’s the majority of my case. What’s not rdy or missing will come and they told us that prior so ppl complaining just sound entitled.

I personally haven’t had much in the way of server issues or crashes outside trying to get into BTB which breaks my heart! But I know the team is working on it as they post regularly about it.

As a frequent player of BTB it does suck and the team is working on whatever is causing the issue. I know ppl expect it to work out the box and it did but sometimes stuff breaks for no reason, they are working on it.

Sometimes it takes me 10+ tries to get into a match of BTB n that’s if it loads fully.

Hopefully you’re enjoying the rest of the game.

This is very true, COD has been a dumpster fire alongside the Battlefield franchise but that’s normal for EA and Activision.

Cyberpunk didn’t win any new fans for CDPR and maybe lost them a few. Destiny 2 felt like a step backwards compared to Destiny.

Even with all that I don’t think the state of 343i and Halo Infinite reach their lvls.

They’ve given me reason to think they are greedy, but you’re right that there’s no reason to be hostile.

Certain aspects are still broken.

I would hope that there are people who like games making the games, and that they would test their game to see what’s good and what’s bad.
I’d give them some slack though, considering their development woes.

That’s good to hear.
I’m glad you’re enjoying the game aside from that.

It’s good they said something, but it doesn’t change that it wasn’t there at release.
I’m willing to wait for those, but in the meantime, we’re stuck without much.
There isn’t even much to look forward to armor-wise, since it’s allocated sparingly for what small amount we’re given, and the rest of it is on the shop, which you know the problem with.
Right now, custom games aren’t even doing well.

The campaign’s okay so far.
I have some issues with it, and the bosses are a nightmare to fight though…

You shouldn’t ever sell colors, especially in a series like this where the colors have always been free.
Like others have said, they should’ve unlocked all of the colors and instead sold designs that work on all of the armor cores (there shouldn’t even be armor cores actually).

Again, they shouldn’t have released the game before those were ready.
So, people are right to complain, though they shouldn’t expect it to be released sooner.

Hopefully it doesn’t become normal for Microsoft.

When I read stupid things like this, I just can’t take anything people like you say seriously.

Do you know how easy it is for anyone to throw what you said right back in your face with no regard? Just that quote alone you lost all credibility, not that you had any but I think you get the point.

Yes, 343 is working on things, but here is a fun fact. Your opinion that is nothing but an opinion does not apply to everyone. Talking about entitlement :man_facepalming:

Yeah, I don’t think many have caught on to that yet. Hmm, maybe a few more years it might sink in?

You added nothing to the conversation and instead attempted a straw man… Never said it applied to everyone but by all means go off… If you want to attack me based on my opinion have it you started to then stopped. Anyway hope your enjoying the game at least.

At the same time not every feature can be slapped onto the box giggles. Especially when the team building the game has different ideas they want to implement. Their are trade offs constantly in game dev. I credit them with being able to listen and communicate with the community about how they can implement requested changes…

Features like Forge n Co-op are delayed… not missing. This was told prior to launch…

At this point, I simply disregard any account that makes an “entitlement” argument.

It’s either astroturf, or Severely Invested Mundane Personalities that are saying that, and there’s no point in talking to either.

I see that you’re a professional in these forums, I appreciate you responding.

The greed I hope isn’t MS driven and just them figuring out the pricing and what’s acceptable. They have the best Battlepass structure, not progression sadly but I like that you can still unlock season 1 stuff even at season 12…

What have you been experiencing?

I don’t think a person comes on to build an existing franchise like Halo just for the money, I want to believe theirs a lot of love involved. That’s the feeling I get playing Infinite. High lvl producers leaving a game does not always indicate woes but I see your meaning especially given the delay.

Lol the mini bosses and HVT are annoying in a way only halo can make em… I roll deep with the UNSC marines Razorback or Scorpion will fix the sponges.

The cores make sense in the grand scheme of the game . The unlocking of color pallets that can’t be used on each core is very stupid… my Mark VII has dope colors my Mark V B will never see as well as my Ronin core… they dropped the ball their totally I can’t defend that n never will… hopefully this is just Launch n we can get something that makes more sense…

I can understand wanting the full package, I for one was ok with them breaking it up and giving me what was ready… as I mentioned I have enough faith to wait for it to be a much more complete package.
