Did the balancing changes make matchmaking more sweaty?

I’d like to hear the community’s thoughts and opinions on this, and I’ve also included a poll.

I personally believe it has to do with the melee/mangler nerf and how it effects the overall sandbox. I have noticed that in every match players seem more aggressive with the AR/sidekick, I’ve always been in the camp of thinking the AR and sidekick were not op and that they were just finally a viable weapon to use. Now I am starting to understand what favyn was getting at about the AR.

The BR needs to be a 2 shot beatdown in social but also, I think the mangler needs to be a 1 shot beatdown (at least in social). I’ve come to realize that it’s the mangler that was keeping people in check from bum-rushing everyone with the AR/sidekick. The mangler is difficult to be super aggressive with because much like the sword, if you try to run at someone with it, you can easly be taken out - and at even less distance that the sword.

Ultimately, the mangler pre-season 2 functioned as a defensive weapon and took skill to use effectively at range. The BR’s 2 shot beat down functioned in a similar manner. With both being removed and nothing to keep those players in check, I have felt every match is a real sweat-fest. Each match, everyone charging me with the starting loadout, and If I have nothing better it just comes down to either a guaranteed trade (due to the update) or who ever started firing their hose first wins.
