Wondering.
Short answer: No.
Long answer: Installation 00, while damaged when the incomplete Installation 08 fired, did not explode. The UNSC established research facilities at the Ark. Joint UNSC-SoS expeditions to the Ark also occurred. Most recently, the Second Ark Conflict started on March 28, 2559 between the crew of the Spirit of Fire and the Banished.

But seriously, how’d you expect something larger than Earth to explode with something so much smaller :/.
Cortana said at the end of Halo 3 that the ark was heavily damaged, but the halo ring (04B) was destroyed. Unfortunately, Halo Wars 2 seems to have taken that back a few steps as the ark doesn’t seem to be damage almost in the slightest.

The Ark was repaired. It’s Monitor, 000 Tragic Solitude, began repairs after the events of Halo 3. Collectively, the Phoenix Logs in Halo Wars 2 and the novel Hunters in the Dark explain how the Ark was restored.

Honestly, I think it’s pretty obvious. Since the ending of Halo Wars 2 revealed a new Installation 04 (04C), I think it wouldn’t be surprising to know that the said monitor and it’s many sentinels had more than enough time to repair the Ark and build a new Installation very quickly. I mean, look at Halo 3. In the end of The Covenant, a new Instalation 04 was revealed to be in contruction, and was very complete despite the fact that the original Installation was destroyed mere weeks ago. No wonder there’s things like the Maethrillean

Actually, Anders notes that the Ark keeps a near-finished Instillation on hand at all times in case one of them gets destroyed. So more than likely the one that would become 04B was there for years, if not centuries, before being prepared for launch to replace 04. However, the fact that ANOTHER ring was almost ready to be launched following the destruction of 04B, with there being only about 6 years between Halo 3 and Halo Wars 2 (2552 vs 2559) is still impressive

I didn’t knew that, thank you. I’m still to play Halo Wars 2, but I only “know” the ending after watching multiple times, unintentionally, it’s ending. I won’t do the same with Operation Spearbreaker nor Awakening the Nightmare tho.
if it exploded then halo wars 2 wouldn’t be a thing
