During yesterday’s PVP, one of the opposing team members had the gamertag “MasterChief” – I’m genuinely curious if that was a bot replacing a user or a person with that gamertag?

Searching xboxgamertag, I don’t see any activity on that gamertag - so maybe a bot?
Lol I played against “Jesus” … true story. Then I saw 2 players with emblems & service tags. Assuming devs? Any1 else see this?
I had a custom emblem and service tags, you could only change them using the beta of the new Waypoint app

My friends and I had service tag and emblems. We used the waypoint app
Sadly I could not access the waypoint app as it was accessed through the Halo Channel app on Android and I have a Galaxy S21+ and the Halo Channel app isn’t compatible with the latest version of Android on the S21+. I attempted to access this on the web version of the new waypoint but couldn’t access / change my service tag and emblem… nbd though.

You would have had to click on join beta in order to get access to the Waypoint beta app in the Halo Channel section of the store. And than update it

Thats a bummer. Maybe submit a ticket… Thats not too old of a phone.

Same as @BugMaster117. I was on web and couldn’t change any of that. IIRC, grayed out like on console. Thanks for confirming.

Samsung just takes Ls. I remember my S10 couldn’t even use the wide view on the front camera cause android as a whole just didn’t allow apps to use the full camera just a preview… strange times. Sad that even the newest flagship phone on the new android won’t work. Rip!
Also I think it was only available to change on the app for sure.

For me it gave me the same error, but then I signed up to the beta version via the google play store page and after it finally updated to that beta version I was able to turn on the app.

That’s not a bot, if it was, it would have a bot nameplate and would say as an example 343 Free Money or one of their code names.
Dang I kept seeing people with emblems and what not and kept looking around in the settings if it was open!
I think it could be glitch in the scoreboard, as one of the matches of pvp I played showed one of the bot names for a player. It stayed that way until that player died and then the scoreboard reset and actually showed the person’s gamertag. I don’t think they had bots replacing players enabled at all for the short pvp test they did because I played a 2v2 match one time where they didn’t replace anybody on either team.
Didn’t all the bots have “343” at the start of their names during the preview? Or was that just bots that start a match, and bots added from players dropping can have more variety in their names?
Bots did fill spots in the the PvP matches though I think…

People used the Waypoint beta app to get the emblems and custom service tags
