Did Precursor create Hunter as well?

It is mentioned that Precursor created lives in our galaxy as well as Flood.
Precursor intended to make Flood capable of consuming any life form, yet it cannot consume one thing: Hunter due to their physical structure.
Out of all reasons for Flood infection immunity, Hunter remains canon.
It was written, so that can explain why there is no Flood Hunter form.
We saw infection form trying to infect Hunter, but fail.
Later in Halo 2, it was mentioned that Flood cannot infect Brutes due to their thick hides, but it was later retconned with Halo 3 game mechanic.
I think Jackal was supposedly immune due to lack of calcium on central bone iirc.

Monitor from Blood Line comic mentions Hunter’s immunity to Flood while studying each test speciemen. Did Precursor fail to see possible immunity to Flood? Like Johnson’s plasma syndrome and this.

Johnson was immune due to being a Spartan I subject as far I know. And I believe the Flood can Evolve to the point that they can learn how to infect a being regardless of its immunity, it is a parasite after all.

It is possible if the Flood do indeed return that they will be a much more Evolved version. The ones on the Halo Array’s were only a singular Infestation that really didnt have the time to Evolve to their full potential due to their own mistakes.

The brutes was pretty purely just game mechanics.
Jackals however, can be infected, they simply make poor combat forms (due to the calcium thing), like grunts, and just converted into biomass for other forms.

Hunters however, are just largely incompatible with the way the flood works. You’d effectively need like an infection form connected to every worm in a hunter’s body, and thats if it didnt destroy itself first.

I’m actually surprised the hunters weren’t the result of some forerunner research into the compound mind aspect of the flood.

Like you just said, Hunters are only used for bio-mass, just because it’s not compatible for assimilation, it can still be used for bio-mass.

OH BTW Johnson was never immune, it was retconned and that he simply fought his way out.

Brutes couldn’t be seen infected because Bungie couldn’t create infection animation and Brute form in Halo 2? Is that what you are saying?
I remember hearing Brutes couldn’t be infected due to thick hide long time ago, but changed in Halo 3. And I wonder why Forerunner didn’t put enough research on Hunter. I mean one of the monitors seem surprised by their immunity against Flood.

Oh really? Good to hear. That’s from Breaking Quarantine by Tsutomu Nihei right? But I still keep hearing Borean syndrome.
Wiki still holds that as fact.
That should put all those downgrading Flood. So many people underestimate Flood because of certain limitation. And they simply base on their view from original trilogy… which was feral stage.

Do we know the hunters existed pre-halo firing? Its possible they evolved, or merely became a sentient species, after.

Good point. Not even Halo legend shows that. The anime shows how other races were repopulated, but Hunter?
