A few times now while playing my Spartan had used boost with out me pressing B often boosting on his own accord when I throw a grenade.
I think this is kind of similar to issues with aiming with it being inconsistent and spazzing all over the place when I didn’t do any thing.
I don’t think that’s ever happened to me.
Perhaps your boost button on the controller is a bit dodgy - maybe some gunk in there somewhere (although I guess it could be the game).
As of when giving an input pressing to throw a grenade it’s boosted instead and both my thumbs were still on the sticks.

Your friends might have changed your controls to mess with you…

I don’t have any friends that could of touched it.
Plus it isn’t doing it the whole game just randomly

Then I recommend a new controller

Try a different control sceme.

Doesn’t matter. I’ve gone through three of these things. I had one in particular (I use the Halo 4 control scheme, so my thrusters are left bumper and my grenades are left trigger), where nearly every other time I would try to thrust, I would chuck a grenade. Then on the other side, when I’d try to ground pound (RB), sometimes fire a round or two before initiating the thing. This was the Master Chief controller. What ended up happening was the left bumper just fell out one day.The other two controllers had drifty right analog sticks so my aim would pull up drastically. They all managed to screw up after their warranties expired (barely).
I looked into it since my 360 controllers lasted like 1,000 years and could take a serious beating. Apparently it’s not actually Microsoft’s fault; it’s the interior pieces inside the controller (around the bumpers and analog sticks) used to be made of metal, but the company that manufactures them in China went with plastic for this generation. Playstation uses the same supplier. So they’re just cheaper.
Out of desperation, I ended up getting an Elite controller. It also has the plastic pieces inside, but the casing is much more solid and I bought through a third party seller who offered a 2 year warranty as opposed to Microsoft’s 3 months. So not only are those plastic bits better protected, in the event it screws up, I got a safety net. I should be able to purchase an extension on it … I think, I may have to look into that. Only problem is, the damn thing was $150. I wasn’t even interested in all the gimmicks and paddles and nonsense it offers. I just wanted a solid, functional controller. Is that too much to ask?
While we’re talking about controls doing wonky things, I can’t use the Forge Monitor’s boost while using most of the control schemes. I have to switch to Recon to be able to boost.
Also, when I do Banshee tricks, sometimes it dismounts me for no reason

My limit on a controller is £25 any thing more is just overpriced
i saw a controller that was over £100 in game and it looked terrible
This does at times happen to me as well but my controller isn’t in the best condition. The only thing that made me assume it was a Halo 5 exclusive error was that none of the other game s that i play DOOM, fallout, Titanfall, BF4, King’s Quest, GoW3 or XCOM every did this.
So i’ve jsut said it was a bit of column A and column B. There could be an issue with Halo 5 and my controller certainly could be forcing it out more.
That process lead to me not reporting it because I thought it was only me and didn’t want to waste anyones time until I saw this post…wait, that implies that I now want to waste someones time…eh whatever.

I’m in the same kind of position I wait till I’ve seen an issue a few times and if it keeps happening I’ll post about it some more.
There are more problems happening with in the game often than I post about. Some problems I’m sick of never getting fixed.

It won’t get fixed because it’s not a problem with the game. It’s with your remote or your hands - which is you clenching the buttons when you boost.

I wasn’t on about that I was on about other glitches
I never heard of that. Do you a Elite controller and accidently hit the buttons.
Are you using the elite with the paddles on the left? Yeah, you pressed that.
That is what has happened to me.
Just a plain halo 5 controller

Then it’s probably a game glitch or a controller glitch I would say.

Only reason I said any thing about it this time was I was in a clear enough moment that was calm not a lot going on. I had the control held normally my hand and thumbs weren’t near the B button.
