This, I saw this vehicle in the spartan ops trailer a while ago and I’ve seen no mention of it at all.
Is it like a re-useable droppod?

It’s a drop pod.
New Drop pod
Sir

Yeah thats what I thought, but its elongated and in the trailer its flying upward and we never saw that from the other drop pods so it made me wonder what exactly it was…

I think we can confirm its a new design of that drop pod.
Alright I was just wondering, thanks guys.

I don’t think it’s flying up, those are just thrusters to slow it as it falls.

Maybe, but in the trailer it was going up http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nn89_AXCRUY (skip to 0:48).
But yeah I guess it looks like a drop pod, maybe to cut down on lost material? (lore wise)

Ah, I see what you mean now. It still looks like a drop pod, though.
I thought that it was like a revamped version of the drop pod. It slows down so it hovers and then releases the people its carrying. I thought thats what I saw somewhere? There were grunts and stuff coming out of it, then it goes back up into space?

I think, I’m willing to bet its to cut down on the prim count so the xbox can handle it.
But I think its kind of interesting, as to how this one will be different.
I saw it before. I’m glad 343 didn’t reuse the one from Reach.
Getting splattered by random drop pods or getting stuck inside one. It’s funny but it’s detrimental to gameplay.

Yeah. But not merely for performance but also for immersion.
It was immersion breaking for me in Reach when it suddenly disappeared after some time. By going back into space, there will be consistency.
I wonder how dropped weapons will play out. Will they be consistent (CE, Halo 2) or inconsistent (Halo 3, Reach)? And of course, vehicles. Consistent as in CE and Halo 3 or inconsistent as in Halo 2 and Reach?
,
“ME: what is drop pod”
ALEX: “You are correct you get the next choice”
ME: I’ll take “halo 4 ancient evil for 1000000000 Alex”

I hardly ever got splattered by droppods in halo reach, but yeah it got on my nerves when they’d disappear.
But what do you mean about the weapons? O.o
