Did mendicant Bias bring the SoF to the Ark?

I love good lore questions, so here’s the above.

discuss.

I was gonna ask “what is the SOF?” but then I realized it was Spirit of Fire. So hip

So hmm, somehow the SpiritOF slipspace jumped without a slipspace drive? (I don’t know the Halo Wars story but I did see the Halo Wars 2 intro cutscene where they mention it) Or it was removed after…where did it go? It’s like someone slipspaced the slipspace drive out of the SOF to ensure they wouldn’t run.

In Halo Wars, the Spirit of Fire crew had to sacrifice their slipspace drive in order to destroy a cache of Forerunner ships that the Covenant planned to use against humanity.

hmm maybe hmm its a good theory

That little piece of AI -Yoink- is in the ark, right?

Given how Isabel certainly couldn’t do it and Tragic Solitude is currently busy being dead, it had to be Mendicant Bias who bought them there via the Ark’s Slipspace network.

And spoilers from the campaign confirm that the Ark brought them there (as in it located them over a distance of 250,000 light years and teleported them to it) or so I’m told from people who have access to the early missions.

The possibility of Mendicant Bias bringing them through slipspace is is quite possible.
However, why did the AI do it? What was the reason in doing so?
Tragic Solitude and Isabel currently don’t have access to the slipspace portal from Voi to the Ark and the only other AI that has the power to do so is Mendicant Bias or the Sentinels.
The Sentinels, however, will not likely be able to do this sort of thing as opposed to Mendicant Bias. Even if they did so, what was the purpose? To test if it is functional? Randomly locate a nearby object and transport it to the Ark for no reason?

If Mendicant Bias was responsible for this, then question remains, why did Mendicant Bias slipspace travel them to the Ark? And also, why one hour ago from the awakening of the crew?

In order to establish a human base to regroup and take on the created. My theory

OP

See problem is its really two questions.

Who brought the Spirit to the Ark, and who brought Atriox to the Ark.

This means that potentially there are two opposing forces at play here. One is pro human, or needs humans to further its goals at any rate, and the other is aiding the Banished in some way; willingly or not.

We know Atriox is looking for something because he is using a Cartographer.

So lets just make a comprehensive list of everything that could be manipulating events and have enough control over Forerunner Tech to bring them to the Ark.

  • 343 Guilty Spark. Wants his ring back and has a history of working with or co-opting Covenant forces. Would oppose Cortana. May be with the Banished willingly or not. Perhaps Atriox found him after his little quest to find the Librarian and he led them back to the Ark. He is one of the few beings left in the galaxy aware of the Arks location. He then perhaps secretly teleported the Spirit.

  • Mendicant Bias. Wants redemption and for humans to claim the Mantle. Will oppose Cortana. May need Reclaimers to release his tomb. Is a weapon in his own right that could be used to beat Cortana.

  • Offensive Bias. See above. Unsure about his final fate.

  • Gravemind. This creature is capable of controlling Forerunner systems in the absence of a Monitor. TS is destroyed; there is nothing stopping it doing this. Perhaps he is simply luring all of these organic forces to the Ark as a trap, like he did in Halo 2, biding his time and so cares not what type of flesh sates their hunger. He will build an army from the Banished and UNSC before invading the galaxy; with full control of the Array. So Atriox and Cutter are being led into a trap. Also, this could still involve MB if he is their servant.

BTW I rewatched the San Diego comic con panel for Halo Wars 2 and their reaction to being asked about the Flood. Theres a very high chance they will be on this game IMO.
