According to Ozzy Onya in his Ubiased Facts topic, he said that reaching max rank lets you start over again and play a diffrent way, or at least that’s how I understand what he said (for reference, click on the topic and it’s the second thing he says). This sounds like prestiging from CoD. Did I read that right? If so, I hope you get different rank emblems like in CoD so that peole can tell you have “prestiged.” Personally, if it’s how I said it is, then I like it. It gives those who hit max rank quickly something else to work on besides Commendations, assuming those return. If they do, they better not take as long as Reach’s and they better have better payouts.
link? i have not heard that yet.
It is like Call of Duties prestige mode; however, it advances prestige mode by giving you the ability to chose your play style.By doing so you are able to unlock new armor, weapon skins, armor skins, and never before seen emblems. I personally love the feature!
Everything always sounds like COD with you people. The only reason why it does is because that is all people ever play now apparently.
It’s like this (as far as we know)
You can use what’s called “Specializations” to “Specialize” in an area. Close Quarter Combat, Marksmanship etc. (We don’t actually know what areas you can Specialize in yet"
When you Specialize in an area, you get rewards for completing tasks that fit with your Specialization. Things like Modifications (The so-called “perks”) and Armor parts and Emblems.
Once you complete the 10 levels in a Specialization, You can start over from level 1 of a new Specialization.
If you play CoD (or are at least know about it) It’s less like Prestiging. It’s more like Spending a part of your Prestige unlocking Assault Rifles, then another part Unlocking Equipment.
I don’t think your actual level resets, just your Specialization level.

spelling police lol
but does anyone have a link to this? i want to read this for myself no offense, but rumors spreads like wild fire on here
I haven’t seen anything like that lately. Re-enlisting doesn’t reset your rank.
This was something that I actually hated in COD. Why the hell does Halo need this? This is a prime example of why progressive ranking systems suck.
I actually regretted prestigeing in COD, I got bored of the game very soon after. It better be significantly if not dramatically different from CODS way.
The reason why I don’t like the prestige feature is because it makes playing the game and looking forward to unlocking stuff an oxymoron. I just finished everything, now lets restart. Some people say it gives you more to go for, but all its giving you to go for is all the same -Yoink- you already had, and a few extra accessories that don’t even amount to 10% of what you just wasted your time working for.

You don’t lose anything, nor do you actually reset. You select a route, complete it, and get cool stuff for completing it. Then you select another route.
Rinse and repeat until you done everything the game has to offer in that department.

Bravo! Bravo! Best explanation of the system so far!

from what i have heard on the CC vid yes its. its like work on sniping/ driving/ heavy weapons, etc etc. its not a cod prestige more of the specialist thing. work on 10 levels on something your good at.
for me its the MG/ cqc/ and driving. so for once its not like cod (the ideas)

I thought it was like prestige mode, but this, THIS is way better.
There one thing im a little confused on, is this only for our progression system and the ranking system has still yet to be announced or is the specializations our ranking system?
This sounds alright to me. I wonder if there is a specialization for ‘Survivability’? Like, a master of Close Call.
I’m impressed. Not too long ago, this thread would be full of nothing but “HURR DURR 343 ARE COPYING COD THEY’VE KILLED HALO!!1!”
